If a 17x7.5 with a +42mm offset fits, then a 17x7.5 with a +40mm offset will fit: its only 2mm difference.

no spacers, nissan claimed they took a bolt from the brake system to make them fit. i asked if it would affect braking and they said no. i havent had any problems except the brakes wearing out at 14000 miles. gotta love the Z!!!

^that bolt they are talking i there so a person doesnt put the rear wheels on the front. correct, another wheel wont fit unless u break it off but thats not the reason why your 42mm wheels fit b4. do a search and youll find the most offset that will clear the brakes

The Tire Rack is pretty good about sizes. They are cautious also. They simply don't want wheels returned because of poor fit.
