Default Nissan wheel lock? Where's the key?

Hi, I bought my Z from a mercedes dealer a few weeks back, but they didn't include the "key" for my wheel locks...is the key somewhere in the car or...do i have to go to the dealer and get it? Anyone know? Thanks!!!

I bought my Z used from a dealer. The wheel lock was in the little change pocket in the center console. Search all the cubby holes and door panels and stuff.

If you don't find it, don't be surprised if the dealer you bought it from tossed it with the rest of the previous owner's stuff.

They owe you the key for the wheels.

(BTW, the locks are not standard equipment)

Run a CarFax report. Contact the previous owner. If that does not work a mechanic can remove the lock with a nut cracker.

Thanks all, i called the dealer and they said that they will reimburse me for getting the lock removed if i can't find the wheel lock. It kinda sucks because they only gave me 1 set of keys as well...but its all good

1. you can contact mcgard and send them the "imprint" of your key. but this is rather difficult to do when the lugs are all deep inside the hole, especially if you have the touring 18s.

- i was in the process of doing this until...

2. go to the dealer and explain the situation. asked to see the master key set. out of 12 (or 20.. cant remember) one of them should fit. each key has a number and a color code. once you find the info,

a. order it through the dealer
or
b. order it through mcgard directly

the dealer wanted 10bucks and mcgard wanted 5bucks. guess who one my business?

We have a master set... but you can not get hte lock seperatly... well, its less of a headache to get a new set for $25 then get a new lock...

We can remove the locks that you have on if you want to make a trip down...

Default Question?

How is running a CarFax helpful to finding the wheel lock keys? CarFax doesn't include the name of the previous owners of the car within the report?

90% of the time when you purchase a New Car, the wheel lock is no where to be found...

when you buy the car new, you can go to the dealer...

you should beable to go to the place who you got the car from and get them to do it for you...

mcgard is the company that makes lugnuts and keys. nissan ones are mcgard ones. i think it's mcgard.com or mcgards.com... cant remember.

jason, i was able to get it separately through the dealer or directly from mcgard. it was just cheaper through the manufacturer.
