I believe the tires in your pic are the BFG g-Force KDW-II or KDW-NT (same thing, nt stands for new-tread). How do I know, I have them. I have 255/40/18 all around and they are sticky! They grip great with not much road noise that I have noticed.

I never even had a set of Toyos. Went right with the BFGs from the start. These are my second set. My first set was the old tread on my Evo 8.

Love'em. Good grip & the noise is not as bad as what some reviews have said about them. Plus the tread looks great!

Just got them on my Z yesterday, as the RE040 rears wore out in 13,500:sigh:

I havne't really pushed these tires yet, but I can DEFINITELY feel a stiffer sidewall. Every start from a stop I've had, so far, has not triggered the SLIP light to come on, indicating much better traffic. And today it was pouring and wet traction felt very comfortable and stable. So far I'm very happy with the purchase.

Once I get to a couple of auto-crosses and track sessions, I'll give a fuller report.

Edit - And yes, those pictured are the BF Goodrich T/A g-Force KDW-2's.

2nd Edit - I forgot to mention... much louder than the stock tires.

Not as grippy as the KD, but they last longer and still grip well

i like my KDW's i have the last tread style, Very sticky.
picks up lots of small rocks heh.

they seem to be better in snow/ Ice because the tread is more longitudinal and much more sipes, but the new tread (shown) disperses water well

KD's very sticky but poor wear and in OR not as useful

If you find a vendor for this size let me know. Last time I checked this size was not available.

KDW2 or (n/t = new tread) doesn't come in 275/40/18, only the KDW or (t/t = traditional tread) comes in 275/40/18.
