Default Offset Question - I'm sick of searching...

I've searched, used offset calcs, etc. and can't find a definitive answer.

First, I guess it would help to know if the OEM Touring Wheels are 30 Offset or 33 (for Calculator use) and also how much strut clearance we have... I heard 7mm, but this cannot be right.

Second, Discountiredirect tells me all the below will fit a 350z... Using the calculator it is telling me that the 18x8.5 38 will not work... Using the calc, the 18x9.5s have a lot less strut tower clearance... Nothing less than 7mm.

Anyway, which of the below will work, plain and simple:

F - 18x8.5 - Offsets Available 28, 38
R - 18x9.5 - Offsets Available 25, 35

I'm guessing the 28 and 25 Offsets are best?
What if I lower the car by .6" or so with RSR Springs?

it helps if you know your widths first.. and some conversions numbers.

a 8" wide wheel with a +30mm offset will have the same strut clearance as a 9" wide wheel with a +17mm offset.

Not sure how close you will come with the fenders rubbing on the tires as each tire is made with a different width.

I know the widths... Stock are 18x8.... The ones I am looking at buying are staggered 18x8.5 and 9.5

Noone else can help me out here? Like I said, the conversion calc worked and said the 18x8.5 28 offset would be fine (like 3mm less strut clearance and extend 11mm farther than stock) but the 9.5s were way off... like 14 or 18 or 24 less mm clearance?!

Just didn't seem right. The 9.5 25 offset should work I'm guessing... but I want to make sure.

Yes, and you will still have plenty of clearance lowered.

Cool man, thanks.

Can anyone else second the notion? Or explain what I'm doing wrong with the calculator?

Or at least give me the real offset of the OEM Wheels and strut clearance?

F - 18x8.5 - Offsets Available 28, 38
R - 18x9.5 - Offsets Available 25, 35

The wheels that you have selected are the same size as the NISMO wheels:

F: 18x8.5J (+25)
R: 18x9.5J (+25)

So use the NISMO offsets as a guide.

Thanks a lot david.

I'm sure that confirms it... The 25 offset will be perfect in rear and the 28 will fit up front.

*If* I buy...

I like them a lot, but they are cast and weigh as much as stock, so I'm not sure...

I might just wait and find some OEM Rays (03-05, 06, or Infiniti). We'll see...

Even though they are cast and same weight as OEM, they are still wider than stock and would allow for some wider tires... which I guess is still a plus.

I'll let you know; or you can see whatever I do in person sometime. We need to get together again sometime.

Take it easy david.

Sorry, but I have seen many threads that said the Nismo offset is

+25 front and +30 rear
