Default TPS repair

The last time I swapped tires on my BBS RGRs, one TPS unit was damaged. When the valve spring was removed to release air from the stem, the inner threads on the unit gave out. This means that another valve cannot be properly seated and renders the TPS inoperable.

Has anyone else encountered this problem and come up with a fix? It seems a shame to trash a perfectly good TPS unit, but you can't just helicoil it...
