I'd rather have some iForged at those prices.

IForged is about the same price, if not more, for those sizes. Equal quality, if you ask me, but the IForged will probably be lighter than the Connoisseurs.

The prices he quoted first (which is what I was referring to) were for the TCII's (18's)....the Connoissuers are even more $$$, and if I'm not mistaken, both the TCII's and the Conniossuers are gravity cast were iForged are forged rims.

The group buy prices that iForged were offering blows the Yokohama prices out of the water for what you're getting.

iForged;

19*8 2.5" Lip $499
19*10 3.0" up to 4" Lip $525

Total before shipping = $2048

Only $2048 for a MUCH better wheel IMO.

I have to disagree about iforged being better. Besides your driving a Japanese performance car why not put wheels that are made and raced for your car on your ride. Iforged belongs on domestic rides.

I don't think we'll see many sets on Camaro's anytime soon.

I'll stick with iForged for now.

A while back I used to browse IS300.net and some kid there had a set of Advan (yoko) Model 5's. He craked one of the wheels during normal driving conditions. Once again, I'll take a forged wheel over gravity cast an day.

I'm not 100% positive, but from what I remember reading on the net, yes they are gravity cast. Now, I have no idea what the difference between normal cast and gravity cast is?!?!

TL, I use to feel the same way, until lately. I think we are seeing a movement (actually it has been going on for the Supra TT, 300ZX, RX&, etc for years...) of guys going with wheels that traditionally look like wheels for "domestic cars" (specifically wheels that have a deep dish, metallic in color (polished, machined or brushed), sharper edges (on the face), polished lip, and even rivots/bolts VSVSVS wheels that are usually painted, NO lip, smoother face, NO bolts/rivots). I think we are even seeing this with import companies. The VOLK Challange, GT-C, et al, 5 Zigan hyper5ZR, 5 zigan copse ZR, OZs, Racing Harts, etc...all seem to have wheels that offer this similar look.

Infact, looking at wheels that are produced by Volk, 5Zigan, OZ, BBS, Hamann, Antera, AC schnitzer, Hartge, AMG, HRE, SSR, iForged, Axis, Lowenhart, racing hart, oettinger, Lorinzer, Dronnell, etc......ALL OF THESE COMPANIES OFFER A WHEEL THAT HAS SIMILAR CHARACTERISTICS to the look that is tradtionally "domestic", yet many of these companies specialize in wheels for cars that are either German or Japanese.

Personally, It seems to me like the cars that look good with these "domestic looking" wheels are the BIG HP japanese and BIG HP german cars (Skylines, RX7, supra TT, 350Z, porsches, M cars, AMG cars, etc......). versus the LOW HP japanese cars (honda civics, rsx, eclipses, etc.......for some reason these cars, imo, look better with the lightwieght look like the JAPANESE wheels you are talking about).

it doesn't matter, cast is cast and Forged is Forged. let me know when you find out, I would be really curious to know if they are cast wheels (I would be absolutely shocked, based on the price).

The Model 5s and 7s are cast. An 18" wheel weighs about 18-20 lbs., and a 19" weighs about 22-25.

Before everyone gets in a huff, you do realize the overwhelming majority of wheels are cast and not forged. You can count on two hands all the companies whose wheels are forged: BBS (only the LM, RSII and the RGR are forged), Blitz, Fikse, Forgeline, HRE, IForged, Kinesis, Mugen (some designs), TRD, Volk, and Work.

oh, it isn't a matter of the just the fact that they are cast, after all 99% of hte wheels out there are cast, and nearly every OEM wheel is cast. IT IS THE FACT THAT PEOPLE ARE PAYING $2500+ for wheels that are cast, that is AMAZING!!!!

It doesn't surprise me at all. Look how much guys are paying for those huge SUV wheels or these spinner wheels. It is all about style. How the wheels look. How they make the car look. Even if your wheels were made out of indestructable material and were warrantied forever if they don't look sweet people will never buy them.
