Default $275 seems high?

Does that sound like a lot just to have Hotchkis springs installed, labor only?

This doesn't include an alignment.

If somebody knows where the DIY for spring installation is hiding, that might be helpfull too, though I probably wouldn't have the ball$ to do it myself anyway..

thanks

where in CA are you?

Did you take them to a shop or backyard mechanic type?

A small shop privately owned here in Sonoma County that specializes in Nissan and Infinity vehicles.

That was the lowest so far. One guy quoted me $470 just for the install. I reframed from laughing and just hung up on him after saying, thanks, bye.

yeah i think 275 is quite high for just springs. if you wanna drive down to sf or sj and i'm sure you can get a better install price.

Ok I found somebody now.

Found a place that will do the install and alignment for $250.

I can live with that. That is actually a little less than I initialy figured. Originally I estimated about 250-$300 for install and alignment.

Def sounds high. $250 for all that still seems a bit high, but not ridiculously at all...

Install + alignment isn't TOO bad at $250, but see if you can't get it knocked down to $200. Alignment shouldn't be more than $80, which means $120 for install which is about right (1.5 hours @ $80/hr).

I got springs, sways, wheel mount/balance, and cutting fenders done at F1Motorsports in North Hollywood all for $600 *including* the price of the sways and springs. I thought it was a pretty good deal.

You can get springs installed for around $80-100.

$250 is ok, even better if you can bargain down to $200. If you go to SF or SJ, it might be cheaper but gas money add up will be the same or a bit more.

I wouldn't pay more than $50-75 for the install ... these cars are SO easy ... the back takes a total of 6 minutes, and that includes removing/replacing the rear wheels.

100 would be a good price. 200 for a reputable tuner shop. 275 and up for them to laugh behind your back and include self serve Yuban coffee costing more than Starbucks.
