Default Help with tires and sizes

i just got some 19 inch hiros 8.5 front and 9.5 rear.
Doing my research on tires and tire size combos. I spoke with a guy from big o tires and he mentioned that 245-40 and 275 40 would fit perfect with no gap.

I was just wondering if i can get some tire size combos. seems like its hard getting matching fronts and rears. Does it really matter if they dont match? Someone please help i cant wait to put my tires on my rims but i want to make sure I know what I am doing before I make my final decision. Thanks

You should try to match the stock tire overall diameter for front and rear as close as possible. To figure this out:
2 x (width) x (sidewall %) + wheel diameter = overall tire diameter.

Just remember that you must convert width into inches.
Now you can calculate what tire size to get.
Yea!

I believe there is a sticky on this, but here is an example

Tire - 245/35R18

245 is the tire width in mm
35 is the sidewall %
R18 is the rim diameter in inches

So your overall tire diameter is:
2 x (245mm) x (35/100) x ( 1 in/25.4 mm) + 18 inches =

2 x (85.75 mm) x ( 1in/25.4 mm) + 18 inches =

6.75 inches + 18 inches =

24.75 inches

You are multiplying the side wall by two since there is one on top of the rim and one on the bottom.

I hope that explains it. There is a web site that you just put the numbers in and it will calculate it for you.

your best combination to keep same overall diameter would be: 275/35 rear and 245/35 front trust me on that one.
you can go to 235/35 front it would be a bit lower (0.5 inch lower)
or 255/30 front but the best for front is 245/35 would be a perfect fit.
as far as rear 275/35 is the perfect fit, you could however go 285/35 it would be a tiny tiny bit higher.

thaks for the info. i was wondering does the tires have to match the front with the rears? I have noticed that the price goes way up with you want to match becuase its hard to get that 245/35 and 275/35 combo in 19s at least. I just dont wanna fork over tons of money for rubber
