Default lightest wheels?

hey guys tried to search this but had no luck
does anyone know who makes the most lightest wheels for the Z?
are the nismo ones pretty light? i have ADVAN TC-ii's right now but would like a different look, but im not sure which rims to go for even though my tc's are pretty decent in weight
some of the volks are extremely nice but they dont look "that" light to me...except for like the LE and TE, but what would i know
regards

I have the Volk Progressive MEs and they are pretty lightweight, not as light as the TE and LE37, but lighter than stock, noticeably that is. Braking has improved as well as acceleration. I hear the Nismo ones are heavier than Volks from someone.

I suppose that you are comparing the same sized wheels.

Any forged wheels might be considered a light weight including:

All Volks

Gram Light 57F

Several Weds Sport Racing models

BBS

SSR uses a semi-forged manufacturing process. Comparatively light weight.

What about CE-28s? Between the CE-28s and TE-37s, which is lighter (assuming same wheel sizes)?

I thought that the Volk's LE37 where the lightest wheel in that size for all Ray's. I know that SSR makes some light wheels as well.

Yeah, I thought they were, and I never understood why people bought TE's if they were buying straight for performance (of course, looks would be a different story, but I happen to like the CE28N's).

Of course, I'm not referring to TE-37 Mags, since that's obviously something a bit different.

That is what I was about to say, the TE-37 Magnesium wheels are the lightest, with a price inverse to their lightness

I dont see how a wheel can "look" heavy?

What weight are you striving for? What look?

All volks are some what light to some certain aspect. Depends on what you describe light. The 3pc. Volks wheels like the GT series (GT-C, GT-U, GT-7) and the SF winnings and challenges all have 2 piece forged outer pieces (lip and outer rim), but the center is cast. Then you have the full forged 1pc. rims like the LE and TE-37 and LE and CE-28 which are some of the lightest volks have to offer, besides their magnesium wheels which probably aren't that affordable.

Really though; How much performance gain do you get per pound shed from each wheel?

What about light weight tires?

I just went from the stock 18"x8" wheels and tires to Volk LE37Ts 19" 9½"F/10½"R; 255/35/19F 285/35/19R. Dropped 11 lbs from each front wheel, 10 lbs from each rear. With the right choices of wheel and tires, you can easily shave off some pounds.

Oh I forgot, if I get some alum lug nuts that will save another pound per wheel too.

The track rays wheels and nismo 18" wheels are relatively light. Both F/R wheel are in the 18lbs range, this is compared to the stock 18" wheels which are in the 24-26lb range.
