Default I got in an accident, and my wheel is scraped......

Hey all, Im ok, and most of my Z is too. Someone swerved into me, hit my wheel, and scraped the right corner of my bumper. My question is can the wheel be fixed to look exactly the way it was when i bought it? If so how much SHOULD it cost. The scratches are not deep or anything. Someone estimated $175 to me, i thought that was a little high? But i dont know. Also i was estimated 600 to paint the bumper, how does tha sound?

please give me some feedback, thanks

Be SURE to have the wheel spun at a mounting shop, it's the only way to tell if the rim is bent. I would bet there's a good chance it is. Bent rims can't be fixed reliably.

$600 is about right. I have a simple scrape in my bumper also and it's about that. They have to paint the whole bumper.

I have way more experience with the whole "wheel repair" area than I care to have. DO NOT expect a factory finish no matter who does the repair. And do not let the insurance guy lead you to believe a repair is all you are entitled to! Most insurance companies will lead you to believe you are only entitled to a repair. You will not be happy with the finish...I had mine done (was in a similar incident) and it was a total fiasco! I warned them I would unlikely be satisfied with the repair...they went and tried to do it anyway...and successfully marred the inside of my wheel (the part behind the spokes that you can't really see...but still!) and the finish was second rate. I won't name names, but this is one of the largest, supposedly best national wheel repair companies out there.

If it wasn't your fault...demand a new wheel. Explain that the car is way too new to accept a repair and you are entitled to a wheel in the EXACT SAME CONDITION prior to them hitting you! I repeat...you will rarely if ever get a wheel repair done and get the same factory finish you want. That being said, the wheel will look damned near perfect from 5 ft. away, but if inspected closely and/or you rub your hand over it, you will likely find imperfections in the finish.

If it's only a scrape and no significant bends, call 1 888 4 fix rim , "wheels America" , speak to Luis and tell him exactly what damage you have and he will quote you a price..

The dealer scratched my wheels putting new tires on, and they payed to have them refinished by a local shop. The cost was $100 per wheel, and they look better now than when they came from the factory. (no paint dot on the refinished wheels!)

I had had the same place refinish two wheels from my truck when someone hit me a few years ago. I couldn't tell the difference between the refinished wheels and the stock wheels.

The place I have used is called "The Hubcap and Wheel Store". Pretty dull name. The front of the shop is all about 20" wheels for your SUV and aftermarket wheels for civics. The back of the shop they do refinishing. Check with local body shops about who they would recommend, that's how I found this shop. My body guy said he used them and had good luck.
