One of the other major changes for 2006 is the use of standard 18-inch cast aluminum-alloy wheels (17-inch wheels were standard in previous years). They are mounted with 225/45 WR18 (front), 245/45 WR18 (rear) Michelin Pilot Sport or Bridgestone Potenza RE040 tires.

this is a small exerpt i found but it is for a 2006. should be the same option for a 2005

Can you not get the tire patched? I've had one my RE040s patched for almost 3 years now without any problems. If it's not a runflat as long as the tire is not destroyed and the puncture is not in the sidewall you can get away with this for $25.

once you drive the car off the lot, take ownership, whatever, no warranty will ever cover a flat tire, unless its due to a defect in the tire, yours was not. thats the risk of daily driving. if you cant get it patched because of the sidewall then you are responsible for buying another. i know it sucks, but its just bad luck man. we all get it one way or another.

now for the tire, its a simple solution. Get one from a tire shop, either online or around you locally. in anyway shape or form do not get the tire from the dealer. the same tire that will cost you 150-200 bucks will cost you 300+ at the dealer. also, if the car is that new then DO NOT buy 2 of them. Just get the one. the only reason for the statement of getting them in pairs or sets is because you dont want a brand new tire and one with 10K+ miles on it. Your remaining tire should be damn near new if everything else you said about the car is true.

good luck!

yeah i know there isnt a warranty on the tire. i gotta get more information on this roadside assistance stuff they are talking about. when i bought my brand new WRX, they gave me a separate warranty for my bridgestone tires. it was a pamphlet stating what is covered on the car and i signed it and they sent it off.

i already figured i was gonna buy a new tire cuz of the flat. doesnt hurt to ask if the dealership would be nice to buy me a new tire seeing mine went flat in under a week of ownership. the funny part is that a guy who just bought an ultima from them had the same thing happen to him. he called the day before me and was asking about his flat tire after a week. pretty wild stuff.
i ordered a replacement michelin pilot sport tire. i was going to buy 2 tires because they were going to be bridgestone potenza's and i wanted the same 2 tires in the rear. i couldnt get the pilot sport tire anywhere else. i had to go through firestone to order it cuz of my mastercare card. just got done putting my down payment on my car and wasnt exactly expecting a flat to come out of nowhere so quickly

I understand. After driving just a week, a flat is the last thing that I would expect. What are the odds.
