Default 245/35/19 vs. stock...245/35/19 is smaller in diameter

So yeah, I placed my stock 18s next to my 245/35/19 and it seems like the new bigger tire is actually smaller in diameter. How is it that my traction control and abs doesn't light up? I thought that this new size (245/35/19) would be identical, ratio wise, to the stock wheels?

Does this mean that I can go 245/40/19 and still be good? That would give me a softer ride as well.

Stick With The Smaller Tire, It Changes Your Gear Ratios A Bit For Better Performance. If You Wanted A Soft Ride You Would Have Bought An Accord!..lol

he's talking about the front tires, that has nothing to do with the gear ratio

245/35/19's are smaller than stock. all you have to do is use many of the online tire calculators to discover this. 0.2inch to be exact.

i use http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

however, the TCS/VDC has a "range" that it accepts. the 245/275 combo has been tried and true through all years of the 350z. it appears this setup is "acceptable" to the TCS/VDC.

if you wanted to be closer to stock you should have used the calculator. 255/35/19 is is exactly the same as the stock (for the earlier years). this is the front tire i run.

245/40/19 will be 0.7inch larger than stock, and may not be accepted by TCS/VDC
