Not 1/2 hour after getting new wheels installed on my car I'm pulling into a pay parking lot and yep.....I scrape the curb with my front wheel.

Lucky it's just a very minor rash. Now I'm glad I didn't spring for really expensive wheels!

How do you scrape the wheel on a curb? Doesn't the tire protect the wheel?

Tires are flexible, hit the curb hard enough and the tire will deform out of the way so the rim gets scratched.

Amazing... I've never put a scratch on my wheels on my Maxima or the Volks on my 350Z.

Becareful i had my rims for nearly 2 yrs and then bam, got a lil over confident. Now i went slightly larger so I don't think that can happen again unless i nail the curb really hard.
