Default 265 or 275?

These tire specs are for some wheels I'm looking at right now- Front 245 40 zr18 / Rear 265 35 zr18. Atleast, that is what's offered if I buy tires with the wheels. But I know many people run 245s front, and 275s rears. Is there a big difference between 265/275 for the rears? If so, what's the difference (appearance/handling)? And would I want the rears to match the front, i.e., 265 40 zr18, as opposed to 265 35 zr18? Thanks.

If you're running 10"+ I say it's better off with 275.
Wider the tire better the traction.
Plus, don't you want your car to look mean from the back?
To me, wider the rear wheels, the sexier and meaner it looks.
And with some negative camber, it just looks sick

A big difference between a tire that is 265mm wide and one that is 275mm wide? The 275 tire is about 4 percent more wide. I don t know if you consider 4 percent a big difference.

The type of "rubber" will have a bigger difference than the 265 vs 275. Yet, 275 fits so easy on the Z why would you want to go 265?

Depending on your offsets, I would go with 265/35 front and 285/35 rear

I have 245/40-18 front and 275/40-18 rear and really dig the setup. Looks great, performs well, and rides nice.

My answer would be absolutely you do want them to match. You might not notice the difference in passing but if you look hard you will notice something is not right about the fronts vs rears.

Check out these links to determine the size tire you want:

You don't want to match the profile of the front and rear tires because of our staggered setup and the relationship to stock sizes. Your ECU will think you're slipping all the time even when you just take a normal turn fast.

btw... I'm running on 295 rears with good offsets. I just needed to roll my rear fenders a little. No "SLIP" problems during normal driving and if I want to drive hard, I just turn off my TCS.
