I put back the nismo last week, and happier. haha. I had te37 f-zeros and then work meister (matte spoke and gloss black lip).

 

Hello Folks today I picked up a set of used set of Nismo LMGT4 18x8.5 +25 Front 18x9.5 +30 Rear


looks like they Powder coated it and has been used ..so there are some defects like road tar or some black stuff here and there on the wheels which is not noticeable and two curb rashes...the tires are bald so I am replacing them.

the sale was local and the price was not bad I jumped on it...u have to love crag list adds...its where once i snagged a whole OEM nismo v3 kit .


Now I do have stock 35 anniversary wheels with these tire sizes

front:Tire: 225/45/18
rear:245/45/18


can I use these tires on these Nismo wheels that I just bought?? any issues?

can I also transfer the stock TPMS to the new NISMO wheels??

Yes and yes to both questions. But tires are a little thin to be swapped over but that is just my preference.

245/40 and 275/40 is standard tire fitment for your wheels.

 

 

Good looking wheels. Yes you can run your F225 R245 tires. When it comes time to replace the tires you can go wider.

 

What year is your 350Z?

If you have 03-05 (or 03-06?), then it has the tire pressure readings on your dash, so make sure you move the tpms from the old wheel to the new ones accordingly.

If you have 06-09 (or 07-09?), then it doesn't matter since it only shows low tire pressure warning only.

Also you can use your stock tires on the new wheels, but I'd go with new tires 245/40 and 275/40 and keep the stock tires with wheels for spare use.

 

There are a number of combinations you could run on your staggered wheel sizes like stated above, but my preference is 255/40/18 front and 275/40/18 rear. I prefer trying to have a larger front tire up front and minimizing the width difference between front and rear to reduce understeer/getting a more neutral feeling.

 

I actually prefure and run the 255/40 275/40 combo, but....... i run a wider wheel up front than the 8.5 the OP has.

 

When i first got my LMGT4's they had the stock F225/R245 setup. (same wheel specs as OP) and after i switched them out to F245/R275 i noticed a huge improvement! Definitely go with the wider tires, you won't regret it!

 

Yea that's usually the case, but the 255 is within the minimum spec for 8.5 rim width so why not. Depending on the tire it might be a little fat in front but it's still extra grip!

 

Thanks guys for all your inputs...for now Iam going to fit the stock tires from the wheels i have now and later switch to the recommended ones.

Now will the TPMS from my stock wheels fit in these wheels directly?? valve stem issues etc??

also is there any specific lug nut that you could recommend .

Yah. I drive around with a torque wrench in my car at all times! Yes, I had them torques correctly. I honestly don't know why it happened, but it started making noises - basically a clicking noise at slow or high speed while turning. It's as if one of the lugs was loose or something. I took them off and swapped sides and the same spacer is the one with the problem. So, I quit using them :-(

It wasn't the lug nuts themselves... I think the problem lies in the lugs that are in the spacer.

I took them off (no click)
Put them back on (click)
Took them off (no click)
Swapped sides (click on the opposite side)
Took them off (no click)

Every time I had them torqued to spec.

Called and emailed ichibaUSA... No response...

 

hmmm, thats weird, maybe the stud in the spacer was not in tight enough. multiple times ive had loose lug nuts and they clicked, tightened them up and the click went away. something wasnt tight

 

I added some vinyl "Nismo" lettering to my 370Z Nismo wheels.

 

the TPMS will work, buut, the TPMS for the Z is super sensitive and easily damaged from what I've read. My TPMS started acting up on me saying psi was low when it was not..Big O Tires has a TPMS refurb kit for like $15 per tire, they pretty much just replace the O rings from what I understand, I had them do that when I got new tires and since then my TPMS works great.

 

Hey guys! Awesome wheels by the way. I have the nismo setup in 18X9.5 front to back. Tire set up is 275/35/18 front and 275/40/18 rear. I have 2 questions. Do any of you guys have advice on adverse effects to front suspension going this wide in the front. Also, what sizes do you recommend for wheel spacers front to back in order to stay flush with the body. I was leaning towards front 15mm and rear 25mm. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
