From what I've read you should stick with the 40 series. I haven't tried 45's on mine but it's not the recommended series.

255/40-18 works great as a front tire as mentioned in the first few posts.

FYI, for the sake of keeping things organized your original thread has been merged with this one.

Really this is where you should have posted all of your questions since this is the thread for the LMGT4's..

ok tire and wheel guru's I need your help seriously..I did what was adviced to me and now my Z handles/drives horribly..something is wrong. the acceleration sucks!! no more nimble, feels heavy and I need to develop huge biceps to turn the steering anymore.

Now let me explain the history..

I have the standard offset LMGT4

before have 255/45/18 for back and 225/45/18 for front... every one said they are narrow wheels and i should go wider so I did the following.

first I got my fender rolled for just a security no harm

got for rear 275/40/18 r

and for front 255/40 /18 r

for front i used 15mm ichiba spacer and for back i have 20 mm ichiba spacer

the car is not lowered yet ...will be lowered next month on tokico d spec and tein s tech springs.

now the car as is on new tires and spacers handles like a tank..lost acceleration and steering is super heavy.. what did i do wrong..oh note the front wheel has slight cupping issue ..was on my M3 but i dont think it will affect this bad..should i got 245/40/18 on front instead of 255/40/18.

Also do look at the attached pics..these wheels do stick out..almost make me want to delete spacers.

please advice

^ that wheel tire setup should not hinder performance. Something else must be wrong.

does wider tire do affect acceleration?? i went from 225 to 255 in front..i can feel in my butt dyno...also my front tires has the cupping issue from my M3 so i guess it might be the culprit..i think i should invest in new tires .

I think your butt dyno needs a recalibration

What tires? Only thing I can think of is the tires are really heavy run flats. I have same wheels, offsets, and tire sizes, only difference is that I use 20mm spacer on the front and 15mm on the rear. As far as the cupping issue, go get an alignment, should be able to remedy that since you aren't lowered

the tires i am using are Pirelli PZero Rosso , cupping is an issue mainly cause if u have bad suspension and so caused by tire bouncing...the front tires i used was my old M3 which had bad suspension, so the cupping was not caused by my z..

I am going to lower the car soon and then change the front tires to better ones and get an alignment after the springs are set.
