2005 steering/tire problem
Some of you may know I've had problems from the beginning with my Z's steering. I recently took it into Nissan of Melbourne to have them check it again. They said that it was the tires this time and I'd have to call NNA. Well, I just got off the phone with a regional manager and he said there is nothing Nissan of Melbourne/NNA will do to fix the problem. He said that since dealerships are individually owned that NNA can't make them do anything. My only luck would be going to the only other dealership within an hour of here (where I bought the car) and hope they would fix it. Other than that I'm SOL! WTF! Anyone else have any luck with a similar problem?
I'm not sure. The dealership says its the tires. I have abnormal wear on the insides of my front tires. I've had the problem since about 100 miles (I bought the car with 12 miles). Its not really an alignment problem because it will go straight if you let go of the wheel. The problem is that I have to turn the wheel to the left at about 10:30-11 position to go straight. Doesn't matter what side of the road I drive on, the car still pulls to the right with the wheel straight. Plus, the car is a little loud on the highway. At least, I think so.
Have you had the alignment checked? It could have gotten thrown off or been off from the start. I'd say take it to the dealership that you got the car from see what they will do for you.
Closer dealership sold me an alignment at 3000 miles. Then, at 9000 miles tried to make the left side of the car "pull" and the right side "push" to do a dummy fix. Neither of which worked.
