i'm finally getting my car back tomorrow from the body shop and plan on finally getting my volk gt-s' on. however, does anybody know how to transfer the tpms to my new volks? i'm obviously just installing them myself as it is a simple swap but don't want to lose the benefit of my tire pressure sensors.

are u seriously trying to be a smart ***? it may be a stupid question to you but no need for the smart remarks. yea so i don't post a lot (i.e: bumping 600 times a day like a bunch of people do) but i'm just looking for help. i checked the sticky thread and it wasn't clear to me. a simple "dood do a search" or "check the sticky threads" would've sufficed.

 

let me help you out with this since i just did it...the tps system is hooked up to the valve stem so there is nothing you really need to do. just tell the ppl when u are having them removed....the only thing i been told is that u have to re calibrate them.. but yeh hope this helps...if you have any more questions shoot me a pm

You really have to search or else the flammers show up.

Anyways. You can't easily re-calibrate the sensors yourself. you'll need a tool the dealerships use to complete this.

Another thing is if you have a 3 piece wheel your sensor will not fit into it's original location ( the valve stem). You have to fabricate a braket around the wheel. There are some posts here for that. It may work on some 2 piece wheels but, it's limited. But the sensor will fit all 1 piece wheels.

I'm getting the impression the boy north of the border doesn't like folks from New Jersy.....anybody else getting this feeling?

Now I'm from Atlanta which may or may not be as good as Joysey but the calibration thing is a crock. I had my local shop remove and re-install on a new set of TSW's and they made no mention of calibrating. Believe me, they would have charged me for it if they felt they could get away with it.

 

well i got my rims with the tires already mounted and balanced. didn't feel like taking the tires off my stock rims as well as my volks just for the tps feature so i'll just do without them. thanks anyway guys...
