Hey, I apologize for the ignorance, but I was hoping somebody would have the patience to give me an education in swapping out the wheels and tires. I'll try to ask specific questions.
1. What size are the wheels on the track model? the Nissan info is sketchy. I know they are 18's, but how wide are they? 8's??
2. Are the front and back rims the same size (18x8??, 18x7??)?
If you buy a set of rims and tires that are the same size and proportions as the Track model's, they should fit the wheel wells exactly like the stock set-up right??
I guess the one factor that I am not too familiar with is the offset(??). I assume this determines exactly where the lug holes are in relation to the edges of the rim. Can anyone give me some more info about that?
I am really trying to figure out how to put a nice set of rims and tires together because I am leaning toward an Enthusiast model and it has pretty weak looking wheels on it. But I have never done this before and I have know idea how to choose the right set-up. That is, choosing a setup that will fit the car the way I envision.
I asked the questions about the Track model because I figured at worst I could match the look (which is not bad). But I think I really want to go with 19's and maybe a smaller sidewall (like 40 or even 35). But again, I have zero idea how to accomplish this.
Thanks to anyone who thinks they can demistify this whole thing for me!!
Andy
PS. One thing I forgot to ask about was weight. I would hope that aftermarket wheels are going to be lighter (even though larger) than the stock 17 inchers. Is this a bad assumption?
