Default If I do this...

It better be and will have to be my last mod for at least a whole year, otherwise I'm gonna be broke forever LOL Actually it would be my last mod anyway, which is why I'm thinking about taking the $$$ plunge and getting it out of the way now, so i can enjoy all of the mods I've done to my Z all summer long.

I am getting very close on deciidng on what wheel and tire setup/sizes I'm going to go with and might be ordering the wheels in a week or two.

I'm hoping that I won't buy the tires until my stocks wear out first. With almost 7,000 miles on them, they may not wear out until after summer. By the way I have no feathering on Hotchkis springs. However I have a feeling if I get the wheels and they are sitting in my house, that there will be no way to keep me from waiting and I will end up ordering the tires as soon as I get the wheels in. Paitence is not one of my strong points, when it comes tp something I want.

Right now I'm planning on going with 19x8.5" silver Axis Hiro's up front with 245/35/19's and 19x10.5" rears with 305/30/19's.

Due to overall tire diameter sizes and how it will would effect my wheel gap and ground clearance, these are the only sizes that come closeset to stock diameters, without going over the stock diameters, unless I run a more traditional 245 and 275 setup. I was looking at a Vette that had 275's in the rear and they just didn't look wide enough to me. I live for corners and don't care all much about 0-60 times. I told myself if I'm going to upgrade wheels and tires then I'm going all out or nothing at all, which is why I'm going with the 305 rears. I have nothing against a 295 rear but I would have to use a 235/35 up front and that would be too stretched up front for my tastse and potholes would have a field day with a low sidewall on that size tire. At least a 245/35 has a little more cushion.

Only other possibilty would be to run a 275/30 on a 9.5" rim up front and a 305 on the 10.5" rear but the steering is already heavy enough as it is and I just don't need or want a 275 front. Besides the 245 will make the 305 look even bigger

Acording to Axis, they claim I don't need to use a spacer on the rear with a 305, so everything should fit ok, though I may need to roll the fender but no biggie.

why not just buy the rims, with tires and take off your stock wheels and save em for back up wheels. I mean why wait for your stocks to wear all the way out. Cause if something comes up, and you need to put on your stocks, you wont have any tires. and I recommend going with the 9.5 front. In the end you will be more satisfied. the hiros kind of concave, which makes them look good. 8.5 wont concave nearly as much as the 9.5.

Probably would be a god idea to have the stocks as backup and with lots of tread, which is probably what would end up happening, since I probably wouldn't wait that long anyway.

I would be buying the rims as a set and I have my choice between 8.5" or 9.5" for the fronts for the same price. I thought it was odd that they would sell the package with either 8.5 or 9.5 size for the same price but I called and confirmed and I have bought stuff from them twice before, so it's legit.

With a 9.5" front, I would have to run a 265/30 or 275/30, actually would really have to be a 275 because otherwise I would end up with 1" of stagger with a 265 front, which is a bit too much. either size is way more than what I want up front. It would help a lot having that much meat up front for breaking hard before going into a corner and if I was racing around on a track all day, I would do it but for street use it's just way too much rubber. The 305 rear is overkill too but having overkill front and rear is like double overkill and too muchh $$$
