Default Same Width, Different Offset

Search came up with nothing, so here it is: I am wondering if anyone has pictures of a Z with the same wheel (and tire) width front and rear, but the rears have lower offset to fill out the wheel wells better. Is this an "acceptable" fitment scheme as far as vehicle dynamics go? I've never really thought about it until I saw some guy in the Marketplace section selling a set of GT-7's that are 9.5 all around, but the front offset is something like +35 and the rear is something like +23 (can't remember the numbers exactly). The nice part is that you can rotate your tires front to back, while still maintaining the illusion that your rear wheels are wider due to a bigger lip. It might look a little weird from behind though.

It's one thing to do all the calculations and determine what will fit and what won't, but as always pictures tell 1000 words. So can anyone help me out, or point me towards a thread that might already contain pictures of this? Thanks!

-Steve

*EDIT* - It may have been obvious, but the front and rear wheels should be the same diameter as well, allowing you to run identical tires front and rear.

Sport Compact Car did this with their 350Z project car -

There are some good pictures there, the car looks good with this setup. You can take this one step further and run the same offset all around, and use spacers in the rear, then you can rotate your tires without having to unmount them!

Thanks! That was really informative, and being able to rotate front to back without dismounting tires would be awesome...
