Default wheel suggestions

i have a 1972 Datsun 240Z that im wanting to get some wheels for. ive looked at stock 18 inch 6 spoke wheels, the factory Rays wheels and the Rota P45R. i dont really like the stock 18s, but if i could get some cheap id go with them. the Rays wheels would go for around $900 with tires. id rather spend $8-900 on something like Rotas and have unique wheels and buy used tires. my question is this. im a domestic guy (drive a 2000 LS1 Camaro) and i want to get some wide tires under the rear of the 240, but import wheels are usualy big diameter, but narrow. im wanting some 17x9 wheels for the front and a 17x11 in the rear. i found Rotas in 17x8 but like i said i want wide ones for the rear. where would you guys suggest i look for some nice 17 inch aftermarket wheels, under a grand?

ps sorry for the long post

have you done a 5 lug conversion?

not sure you can get much under a grand with that wide in the rear unless you find something used....

or, save your money on the 5 lug and get a proper wheel made like I did

picture quality stinks..it was done with my camcorder a few years back lol

Simmons 3 piece wheels - 18x8.5 front, 18x9.5 rear. 245/40/18 front, 285/30/18 rear. Zero fender mods - no rolling, or cutting....and I even fit a big brake kit underneath the front (AP 6 piston caliper with 13.6 inch 2 piece rotor) - so there is room to spare

Granted, these are 18's, and are not cheap, but they can be made in any size you can imagine, and you'll end up with a setup that is as perfect for your car as you can get.

Your more limited on width on the Z vs a ZX.

You could also do something like a 5Zigen FN01RC, though we'd need to get some measurements taken to see the max sizes that could be used
