Default Very Important question (tires) , please help.

Alright, I need 2 back tires since the tread is about gone. I have an 04 touring 350z and they are 235/50/17 at the back, and 225/50/17 in the front.

I found a good pair of back tires, they are BFG and are 245/45/17, would that work well? I am getting these tires tomorrow/some tires tomorrow and I need an answer quick. Thanks alot

A 245/45R17 is a smaller diameter than your fronts. Many have said that when they have had shorter back tires than the front, their VDC kicks in during long sweepers without the tires actually slipping.

Diameter
F 25.86 - R 25.68 = -.18

Well will that look bad? I want looks + performance. It seems if I have smaller back tires it would look strange?

The profile above is there for a reason. Complete information helps. With 17 inch wheels I assume that your car has a automatic transmission and TCS? If so, 245/45/17 in the rear will be fine.

Will fill it out. Yes, good call with TCS and auto transmission. So it will not look awkward with a slightly smaller diameter in the back? Also, this is the tires that I will be getting for the back. Would that be a good buy?

Function: TCS will work fine.
Looks. The difference is 4.5mm. I can’t tell 4.5mm by looking.
BF Goodrich g-Force Sport is not my favorite tire.

But for the Price $137, and I have read some reviews but do not know if they reliable sources, would they be pretty solid tires even though they are not your favorite?

The TCS wants the rear tires about 0.5 - 0.7" larger diameter than the front. His proposed tire is .18" smaller than the front. The TCS will see the almost .9" difference.

Yes, some have posted no problems with equal sized tires front/rear. But those people are the minority.

to the OP, if you make 135K a year, you can buy better tires.
