Default Getting some custom wheels..... opinions on widths...

I'm probably going to go with the following tire sizes:

f: 255/35/19
r: 285/35/19

What wheel WIDTH should I go with, and why?

f: 19x9 or 19x19.5
r: 19x10 or 19x10.5

thanks

Wheels? Most likely some custom built 3 piece forged Jlines.....

9" front and 10" rear. That's just my opinion, I know some people like to run as wide a rim as possible to get the stretched look, but I don't really care for that look. To me it looks rediculous that the rim sticks out past the tire that's just asking to get curb damage. I'm running a 255 on a 9" and a 285 on a 10" wheel and at least I have some rubber between the curb and my rim. Another thing to consider is that a wider wheel will weigh more.

also if you look at tire manufactures specs, a lot of them give the specs for a 255 mounted on a 9" and a 285 mounted on a 10", that should say a lot in it's self. The give a range of wheels sizes but the dimensions are based of the tire mounted on this those size wheels.

Well my 245/275 combo on 9.5/10.5 look stretched, so I'd think that the 255/285 on the 9.5/10.5 setup should look fine. Just make sure your offsets are correct.

wow you could get Jlines in a week, that's super fast or did they have them in stock already. I was going to odrer the 16RL3s but the wait time scared me away.

here's a pic of 255/35/19 on a 9" rim

a pic of a 285/30/20 on a 10" rim

close up pic of how a 285 on 10" looks, I think a 10.5" might look a little stretched. also these are BFG KDWs which people say tend to be a little wider then most tires.

10.5 on a rear rim with 295 width in rear with cut/rolled fenders. No need to neg the camber. You'll be fine.

No, I meant to say the order will be placed this week. WISH they would be here in a week, but most likely it will take about 4-7 weeks. Your wheels look great! Any more pics????
I actually had some volks 19x10.5 on Toyo 285's, which looked good and not stretched..... but we'll see.... may just stick with 19x10 in rear, I'll see what Jlines recommend for 285 series tires....

I pretty much gave them my requirements:

"widest possible lip without major fender modification, using 255/285 tires"

So I'll see what they say, waiting on a response... I dont think they disclose offsets...

As an update, I'm going with 19 x 8.5 in front and 19x10 in rear, 255/35/19 and 285/35/19
