so my friend claims to have real purple te37s for his lil honda but when i compare mine to his theres no ingraving or inside stickers or the jw watever thing n e where on them. are they real?

look at the imprints behind the stem those are on every rim the other markings vary.

I thought it was a requirement for all wheels meeting JWL standards to have the JWL symbol embossed somewhere on them. I bought some cheapo Arospeed wheels for my last car and even they had that marking. I think each wheel from Rays/Volk has three stickers on the inner barrel from the factory: 1 is a 'warning' sticker, the other has the size/offset/manufacture data etc., and the other is a JWL+R certification sticker. But in my experience, those stickers tend to wear off after multiple rainstorms and/or washings.
If all else fails, I think weighing the wheel is the next best angle, assuming that you know the diameter and width so that you can compare measured weight to manufacturer's spec.

Got rid of the 350Z, and picked up my TT 300Z earlier this year. Had wheels since May or so, and finally got my suspension done (Powertrix coilovers/FUCAS/RUCAS/tension rods) before a Z cruise, so here's a few pics. Wheels are 19" SF Challenges, 8.5f/9.5r.
