Both you and mrg's rides look great! What wheels do you have on there dutch? I'm thinking having chrome on a 20" may be too heavy but I love the look of filling the wheel well with a nice rim. Looks very cool to me.

Did both of you lower your Z's with a spring kit? Thanks to both of you for the pics, beautiful.

Dutch and mrg. What do you guys do about the tire pressure sensors? Do you get that annoying psi light blinking all of the time now? I had problems with my sensors when I bought the car so it doesn't even work for me anyway. I wish there was a way to turn it off. The tech at Nissan told me you would have to get into the dash and disable it behind the cluster. Is that true?

Thanks ... they're 20" Axis Mod Sevens ... 9" in the front (3" inch lip) on 245s and 10" in the back (4" inch lip) on 275s. Tires are Hankook Venus sport T104.

I only get the ( ! ) PSI light on long trips (over 50 miles). So it's tolerable. My PSI should be between 35-40 ... Haven't checked in a while.

btw: offsets are 37mm in the front and 38" in the back. Suspension is stock (Not planning on dropping it).

The overall weight isnt the biggest factor..

Ok, this is really catching me eye.

19" axis Milano - Two 19x8.5" - (35mm about 2" Lip) and Two 19x9.5" - (45mm about 2.75" Lip) Hypersilver /Polished Lip - axis Milano wheels - Lug Pattern: 5x114.3

Does anybody have this on their Z here?

Theres been numerous posts, just search, also you can get better widths for those wheels.

Thanks ... The funny thing is all I really wanted was new tires (tires alone cost close to $1200)

To answer the OP's question:

yes 20" will rob power.

Even 19" with a forged barrel will rob power. I sure felt a difference going to 19.

Correct, The size of the wheel determines the rotational inertia exerted by the wheel. The larger the wheel, the more power it takes to overcome that extra distance from the center of the wheel.

I = 1/2 Mass * Radius ^ 2

The diameter of the wheel has much more impact on the whps of the car than the unsprung mass(although it is still significant)

Correct, the real moment of inertia for a wheel is very difficult to calculate using theory since a wheel is not a uniform disk.

But the general theory is, the more of the mass near the center versus the outside edge of the rim, the lower the moment of inertia will be.

I would choose a wheel based on the direction you want to go with the car. If you just want to improve the looks of your car, who cares buy chrome 20's. I have seen some Z's with 20's that look great. On the other hand if you are truely performance minded, and every ounce counts, i would look in a different direction. Good Luck!
