Default Do you feel 20" chrome robs Z's power?

I already know this answer to a degree since I felt the 20" Alba Bertha chromes on my past Lexus LS400 robbed a lot of power. Who has 20" chrome wheels on their Z? Which is the litest and gives you the best performance? Maybe I should go 19" or even 18"? I was looking at this one:

I know but I love the look of chrome. Makes the car look more refined IMO. Got to lower it when you +2 or more. Probably go with Eibach springs? Haven't researched it yet. I've had good luck with the Pro Kit.

Haha, yeah true on the 300C. I've seen a 350Z on 20's and it looked pretty cool, I have to admit. That's why I'm probably looking at em...

some rims belong on certain cars. and some don't.
those choices look nice, but dont go 20s. 18s will do you good.

I think you should get 19's.

20's might look good on G35 coupe's... but I honestly think Z's look best when they ride on 19's.

Good luck either way you go.

There is a difference between measured horsepower at that the wheels and feelings. I don't know what you can and cannot feel.

As far as measured horsepower, you already know the answer.

Don't get "chrome/chromed" wheels since this does add more weight due to the process. Instead, go for "polished" or something similar to Volks "RMC" instead. This coming from someone who does have 20" polished wheels.

You guys, give us a break. Saying that 20's "don't belong on a Z" is ignorant. Sure there are some people that don't like 20's, but there are some people that do. Also, each style of wheel looks different and each offset looks different. You can't make a blanket statement like that. Also, it depends on his intentions with the car.

To answer his question, you will likely feel the difference with all other factors the same. I have 20" Concept Neeper Moxy's on mine, but a simple intake will account for the difference. I personally use my car as a show car, but I wanted some more power for my own enjoyment as a DD, so I added Nismo cams, Nismo exhaust, and AEM intake. These MORE than made up for the 20" rims. By the way, I entered my first car show last night and got TONS of great feedback on my car. About 10 people took pictures of my rims specifically. Here are some pics of my rims, so you can see what 20 inch wheels look like on a Z....where they apparently "don't belong." I will take some better pictures later. They were dirty/spotty when I took these, but I was feeling motivated.

Here we go again ... what's the big deal about putting 20 inch rims on a Z? you guys act like 19s and 18s are so much smaller. I was never in the market for 20s but I had a offer I couldn't refuse. My 20s are actually 5 pounds lighter (a piece) then my 18 stocks.

btw: mine aren't chrome they're silver with a polished lip

To each his/her own... If you like 20"s then that's what you like and end of the story... If you like chrome, same thing. You like both: same thing again...

In the end, it is your car, it is your taste and it is your money. That said, it is quite obvious that 20"s on chrome are not exactly crowd pleasers, but I am pretty sure that there are detractors for both 18" and 19" as well...

Good luck with your wheels!
