I have a question about my '04 350z Base (with Nismo diff). It is time for new tires again...I've been putting this off because I was thinking about getting new wheels, but I think I've decided to put that off till next year sometime.
So, my problem is that I'd like to get Toyo T1-R's for my next tires, but they aren't made in the stock sizes. From the research I've done, it looks like 245/255 on the front/rear with stock wheels is pushing it....would I be okay, or better off getting a different tire that is made in a size closer to OE?
PS, I've got GY F1GSD3's on the car already and I wasn't totally pleased with them.

I am in this exact same situation wanting to upgrade to the Toyo T1Rs. I ran the tire calculators linked off of this site. And it looks to me that I should be running 245/45-17 front and 255/45-17 rear to be best off.
However, I am being told by two different Toyo distributors that I should be running 235/45-17 front and 245/45-17 rears.
I am really confused now and don't know what is best.
Anyone else made the switch and ran either a 235/45F 245/45R set up versus the 245/45F 255/45R set up?
Any help, explanations, reasoning, etc. would be a great help.

Yeah...except my auto place is currently holding a pair of 235/45, 245/45/, and 255/45s for me to decide which two pair to use.
There could be some difference that I don't know about but, needless to say it is leading to a lot of confusion on my part as to which to use.

The front and rear wheels are the same size and offset, just FYI. If they are 17X8" wheels, you will have no problem running 245 front, 255 rear.
Wider is better, esp with the tendency the Z has to understeer at corner exit.
