not doing it for me

Todd, a wheel that I just saw an ad for in R&T is the fittipaldi FORCE, in the small pics and internet, it doesn't look NEARLY as good as the larger pic in that mag. you should photoshop that one, do they come in 19". I think that wheel would look great on a Z (again not based on teh small pics and internet, BUT the new ad)

I don’t think they are too bad looking, nice lip. I would really like to see them mounted on a Z. (non-Photoshop)

Also, I know the wheels are relatively inexpensive compared to many other wheels, so my assumption is they are gonna be pretty heavy, do you have any weights???

Thanks

Yeah, I really like the look of those Fondmetal 9x's. You could get a set of 18x8 for front and 18x9 for rear for under $1000 delivered, pretty impressive. Then they could fit stock tires until new tires are needed. I'ver never been able to see how people justify 2000-3000 for a set of wheels personally. The Fondmetals seem to be nice and light. Anyone had experience with them, or any rim gurus care to share?

MANY people say the same thing about people who pay $35k for a car.

I don't understand people who would pay $35k+ for a car and comprimize on wheels just because of 1-2 thousand dollars. some of us feel like if you are going to do it, do it right!! that is NOT to say that SOME people are NOT happy with wheels that are less expensive, but I am NOT one of those people (believe me I have searched all over the place trying to find it, for my taste I couldn't, if a less expesive wheel does it for you, more POWER to ya, I would just find myself asking "what if...", I don't pay that much$ for a car to ask "what if..?")

Good Luck

Oh totally man. I didn't mean to sound like I was faulting anyone who does, I just said I could never justify it, but your point of view does make me think. You are oh-so-right about the 35k+ thing. Everyone thinks I'm crazy for getting a Z, especially when I have some health issues that are going to cause me to be out of work for several months in the next few years. Hey, you only live once, and I agree it's important to spend your life and money doing what makes YOU happy.

Excellent, thanks Todd. If you happen to remember, get a good angle shot showing how they line up with the edges of the wheels.

I'm sure you'll post it when they go on, but just curious what size wheels, offset, and the tires/sizes going on.

Thanks again, anxiously waiting.

I have actually been running fondmetal 5800's on my Z all winter. I haven't driven the car all that much (mainly only in the dry), but they are nice looking wheels. Mine are 17x8 front and back, with 225 tires all around. They are 30mm offset and have not fitment issues whatsoever. Fondmetal actually had a brief stint of supplying wheels for Formula 1, so i wouldn't say they are cheapo wheels by any means. They are simple 5 spokes, but I don't know what the various sizes are. Let me know if anyone wants to see a pic...i could probably snap a few this weekend.

i forgot to say...i got them from discount tire direct on sale for something like $130/wheel...with pilot alpin snow tires the whole package only came to $1100-1200. They gave me great service and free shipping...good stuff.

Default Just installed them

Yup, came today, 18x8, 25mm offset with 235/40/18 and 18x9, 25mm offset with a 275/35/18 , Nitto 555's.... The offset is PERFECT. They sit it a hair and look great. My eibachs should be here by tuesday and then I'll install them. Thanks Todd, I am really impressed. I'm not sure of the weight though. It could be the Nitto's that are heavy but the fronts with the tires weighed 7lbs more than my stock 17's with tires and the back weighed almost 10lbs more.... I am not complaining though, you can't beat it for the money.... If anyone in Jersey wants to see and take pics we can but my digital camera is broken so I have no way to take pics... I'm sure alot will be taken in Cape May April 5th for our video shoot.....

I don't have any pics yet but there is no way I would go with a offset in the 30's... Technically, with these width wheels, I bet I could of gone with like a 20/22mm offset and they would be fine.. The 25mm offset with the 8 and 9" wheels still sticks in a hair... definately more aggresive looking then stock..
