Dunlop tires: SP9000 or sport maxx
Hi all,
Any advice/feedback on either of these models of tire would be appreicated. Both are ``summer`` tires. The Sport Maxx is 240 treadwear, the sp9000 are 280. Similar, but not identical tread design.
I have the 03` track rims and am looking at 245/40/18 front, and either 245/45 or 255/40 rear. I want to preserve the VDC.
Dry stick, longevity, ride, wet perf., sidewall flex, etc. What do you think of them? I`m now on the Re40`s and am not overwhelmed.
Thanks!

In a month I'll be able to tell you. I've got SP9000s now (245/40 and 275/40/18 on Nismos). Sport Maxx's are sitting on the shelf waiting for me at my local Discount Tire store. I've got about another 1K miles before I'm planning on mounting them. The SP9000s have been great, and I expect the Sport Maxxs to be better. I'm a Dunlop guy, I've got SP5000s on my wife's Camry, But I have to say I put Goodyear Wrangler SR-As on my truck. Dunlop doesn't make a tire I feel would work for me on the truck.
Anyway, if you have a choice, get the Sport Maxx, newer technology, at least in the tire world, is better than old. BTW, IMO, the tread design is not similar.
