The rivets on the S1's go all around the wheels, on the professors it stops at the spokes. I would say Work's build is better than SSR's, I hear about people bending their SSR's all of the time.

I have SSR's. In the 2 years I have had the wheels and 30K mi I have never bent a wheel. SSR's are forged and strong.

Both are bad *** wheels, I guess it's just what you prefer and how much you're willing to spend But SSR's work for me

the Work Meister was the innovator of the overall style; the SSR is a relatively faithful reproduction.

the major differences are that the SSR is made in certain sizes/offsets, the Work is a nearly completely customizable wheel with a wide variety of colors/offsets/lip sizes offered.

there is also a major price difference
