tom, in all respect to you, you did ASK people for their opinions. NOTICE that you didn't get many replies at first, then when you asked, everybody started to deliver, too bad most of it is negative. I have bitten my tongue b/c I know that everybody has a different opinion, so I will continue to keep my opinion to my self. just some advice though, if you don't want others opinions, JUST post a pic and DON'T ask for opinions (like you did at first).

btw, the ORIGINAL DESIGN of the Z was with 20" wheels, the cost cutters at Nissan and perhaps some enginers got rid of that idea, BUT there is a reason the Z was originally showed with 20"s, my guess is b/c it really made the car stand out and look aggressive, so from a "design" stand point, they were done with 20"s NOT 18"S. Personally, I am staying away from 20s (wt and NO sidewall), but 19" seem to offer a pretty good comprimise.

They're OK but I'm sorry they're just not for the Z. DTD really doesn't have wheels that I would want. They offer good prices but as you can see the results are, "You get what you pay for". If you don't want to pay alot and get something that's OK then they're the place to go. Pantera and some of the other brands they carry just don't do it for me.

Hey KJ... We don't pick the wheels. If these guys didnt want the wheels they certaily wouldnt turn over their hard earned money for them. Not everyone wants to spend $500+ a rim. Im sorry that DTD does not have what yuo are looking for. However we must be doing something right to have 517+ stores nationwide.
Happy Z'ing.

PS...what was so bling bling about the 19/20 Konigs?

Jims wheels are FAR from chrome. The are a satin silver face with a polished lip.

In defense of DTD, if you find a wheel you like, give them a holler. Todd found auto-x wheels for me that weren't even on his website and even sold me a set of tires they don't carry. Great prices and great service!

You're right I did ask.I'm wrong & I promptly admit it.I do have question.Do you know if the car handles better with 17s-18s-19s or 20s?Tom

You are so right! You get what you pay for:Buy a $30,000 Nissan & add $5,000 for wheels/tires and you still have a $30,000 Nissan. But a $120,000 BMW is not a Nissan.Know what I mean?

to me it is stupid to pay $35,000 for a car and NOT pay an extra $3k If (a big "IF") you feel like you need that to complete the LOOK that you are going after. In other words, if $3k makes the car look 2X as good, why NOT????

Believe me I searched EVERY where for an affordable option that I liked, and couldn't find it, so is spending $2k for wheels that I don't like any smarter than spending $3k for wheels I absolutely love???? if there is only $1k difference, the investmant is well worth it (if that is how you are??)., but we are all different and have different opinions.

btw, BMW only makes one car that costs over 100,000 (the Z8) and this is the last year of its production.

Stupid is as stupid does.I could have bought anything, price was not the issue.I ordered my car the way I wantted it.But my point is,it is not my on only car or my life.It is a little Japanese sports car no matter how much$$ you dump in it.Lots of cars aren't made anymore. We had to wait a few years for Nissan to get their $hit together.I hope they can keep it together. Thanks for your input,I'm done.....You win

TomZcentral, don't sweat the posters, as long as you are happy with what you got, that is ALL that matters. It shows how inconsiderate and immature people can be. I don't care if someone asks you to be honest, then you honestly say something like, "they are not for me, I personally like stock better" etc. Also remember that there are almost 15,000 registered posters here, so please don't leave because some folks like to alienate posters. Show some social skills people.

DTD, pretty much what I said to Tom applies. I for one appreciate the time you've spent to post pics, inform the board of new products, and in general provide great information about tires, wheels, fitting, etc. You know just as well as I do that DTD is not a high end wheel dealer, that's just not the market DTD chooses to support. You and I both know that the major market for wheels and tires is low to mid end. DTD does what they do great, and has some great products for those markets. All these jokers no just as well as I do that DTD and most major retailers are not there to cater to the high end markets, yet they still act like children. Don't sweat them, and keep the info coming.

I don't get into flame wars, so don't reply to this expecting a reply back.

I have to echo what ROb said about DTD, I have purchased wheels and tires from them on more than 1 occasion, they have GREAT service!! if you find something that you want and they carry it, you will NOT be disappointed in the service you get!!

This entire thread is actually entertaining me now. I havent checked my PM box until just a minute ago. There were 7 guys asking me alllllll sorts of questions about these rims and showed interest in them. They obviously saw this post but didnt want to get in to it with the guys who were trashing them.

DTD has their hands in a lot of different market segments. We sell HRE, Fikse, Simmons, soon to be Rays, etc. However our main focus in the past has been mid range. There are a LOT of high end shoppers, but there a TON of mid range buyers.

Get what you like. And spend what it takes. But in the end, make sure its what you want. If what you want is what I have...its just a bonus.

Thank You,well said. This is the second complete set of tires/wheels I have purchased from Discount tire in the last 3monhs.I had a small lift put on my 2003 jeep wrangler. Discount Tire gave me not only the best price for a oversized off road tire/wheel package. They had the most knowledge & they treated me very well!!&,I will buy my next set from Todd at DTD.Regards,Tom
