Default Tire Fitting Questions

I have 19x8" rims and I am looking to get tires for them now. I am going to go witht he S-03's but I was wondering what size tires would run nice on these rims. I am looking at 245/??-19 for the front and 255/??-19 for the rear. I would go wider but I don't have nice wide rims like 19x10. Probally will get some in the future. But for now I need to know if I can get a 40 ratio sidewall with that width or if I need to go with a 35. Any help will be great appreciated thank you.

go to tirerack.com and look at the specs for the S-03s (or any tire for that matter) They give the min and max rim widths.

I would think that the taller the tire though, the more narrow rim it could handle, ie. if a 255/40 fits a 9" rim, a 255/35 should also.

I do have some autox wheels on order, 17x9 w/ 255/40s, so that should be no prob in an 19 either.
