I need to order my wheels.. but i cant decide which way to go. I go back and forth everyday. They are both about same price and are both same size.

Volk TE-37 Time Attacks 9.5 +22 front / 10.5 +22 rear
or Work SP1 9.5 +23 front / 11 +17 rear

Heres the pics that i look at 5000000 times a day .. I know the decision is ultimatley my personal pref but i love both. I think i would like a chrome lip but i dont like how small the inside of theworks are. The TE37 seem they would be hard to maintain being all black and will the red stripe around the rim stay bright red or fade quickly to orange????

Well...i have the exact same problem...i love both sets. Rivets (i usually don't like) and a huge lip on the SP1, especially on an 11 inch. Time Attack colors are really cool and look great on my PPW. I wish i could get both.

 

I say get the work wheels, but thats just me. Im not too crazy about the red outlining on the volks. Either way, they both look great so you cant go wrong.

 

go time attack, the time attacks look sick on a black or red car. honestly it looks awkward on any other color cause the red stripe tends to clash as much as i would like to have time attacks, my ppw just couldnt pull it off.

 

What are you looking for? black on black looks great, but I would go with the S1's cause it offsets the car's black/dark look with the machined lip. I have a Super Black Z, so it would either be S1's in black, but to bring out the wheel, I would go for the S1's in silver.

What do you plan to do with your car? Any track time in your future or mainly cruising/daily driving/ show?

If you plan to hit the track, get the Time Attacks. If not... get the Time Attacks anyway! (Refer to the quote above)

Get the Time Attacks now since they are limited edition and may be hard to come by in the future. When you get tired of them, sell them and get the S1s

If you want lip, get Volk GTS, if you want weight, get the TE37. Dont get me wrong, I love the Work S1's I think it just might be the most aggressive looking rim around. But if you have to choose between the TE and S1, think what you want, weight or bling. Either way both are very exclusive.

 

just get both so you can just switch off whatever mood your in...that would be sick!

 

Time attacks on SB is IMO the sexiest combo out there. I wish I could afford them.

 

Besides the look factor, if you want a wheel that is going to improve the performance of the car, the TE37 is the way to go. You cant compare a 3 piece cast wheel to a forged monoblock wheel. Other benefits to the TE is it will be a lot less effort to maintain than the SP1. Plus the Time Attack will not be around forever. All I know is I dont think Ill ever go back to a multi piece wheel again. Maybe Im just bias...

I was in the same place as you 3 weeks ago. I went with the Time Attack's because i am going with the "sporty" look. The Work's are sick but it seems EVERYONE and their mother had a black wheel with a chrome lip...don't get me wrong the Work SP1 is sick but i wanted to stand out and i sure do. I get a lot of looks with the red lip


Besides, you can always say "my wheel company is the official wheels company of F1"
