Thumbs up Closer to the RS Concept look

Well I finally took a chance and repainted my wheels. I didn't go to a powdercoating facility nor a body shop. I did this in my garage. Here is a quick guide.

**this is the method I used, it may not be suitable for everyone**

Step 1: Wash and dry the wheels.
Step 2: Sand the wheels with 600 grit sand paper.
Step 3: Clean all the dust off the wheels.
Step 4: Apply masking tape to the outter portion between the wheel and tire.
Step 5: Apply light coat of primer.
Step 6: Apply two coats of paint.
Step 7: Apply clear finish (2 coats).
Step 8: Enjoy.

Here are the pics.

U spray canned the wheels? Hope that it lasts long enough and does not flake off. That's just my opinion, take it with a grain of salt. At least you are doing it yourself. Hope it works out for you.

It is special paint for wheels, so no chipping. I would never paint wheels with regular spray paint. Thanks though.

+1 Any paint that comes in a spray can won't last as well as persay PPG with a catalyst inside a high quality spray gun.

Ashamed? Yeah, can you justify spending 3k+ on rims that don't do ****? Ghetto is your childish remark, haven't you heard the term "If you don't have anything nice to say, keep your ****in mouth shut"?

Thanks for your info.

the wheels are rotas not volks, obviously I wouldn't paint volks I would powder coat them. Why is everybody so into how a rim looks? I'll take close up pics so you doubters will get over yourselves and start making positive remarks.

sorry I hurt your feelings let me guess, when you were a kid your mom used to say "if you don't have anything nice to say, keep your ****in mouth shut." to all the kids who gave you **** for your lower than average head and your salvation army clothes. i'm not saying you need to spend 3k on rims, but I feel sorry for your Z right now with this GHETTO set up.

as long as they aren't nismos, I think it looks great.

I powdercoated my TEs black and it looks fabulous. truthfully, the finish on the rotas is **** anyway. it looks bad so the spray paint might even give it some texture.

nice pick. hope it holds up!

F**k the haters, the wheels looks good. I thought they were real Nismos for a minute. I hope the paint last tho, last time I painted my wheels the paint flakes off.
