I live in south Louisiana and we recently had weather in the low 30's for a couple of nights. In the morning when it's still cold, I noticed my rear wheels slipping a lot, i.e. launching at 1500 rpm or giving it throttle around corners. The 'slip' light comes on. Is this just a combination of cold tires & road surface, or is there something else I should be looking for? Never been in this situation before.

 

nope there is nothing wrong...the stock REO's are high po summer tires not meant to be driven in really cold weather since the rubber compound is very hard it they lose alot of grip in cold weather. ive driven on them in freezing temps tons of times and as long as its dry out and you arent stupid with the gas youll be fine. any snowe or ice though and youll be in trouble

 

That's normal from what I understand; another member had the same problem awhile back (~30ºF weather and tires slipping)... You might also want to make sure you're not running on your summer tires. Get a set of winter tires if you notice this issue continues.
