Which tires ?
OK I know people ask which tires are the best and everyone has their opinions but I will ask this ? too. I'm looking at 245/40 and 275/40. Opinions please. I currently have the Bridgestone Potenzas. Rain mostly in the winter where I live and not too hot in the summer. A few good windy roads I usually travel on also. Thanks
Yes I realise that and I have read some of them. I wanted to specify my weather and road conditions in case there was a more specific tire designed for wet and mild temp driving. Thanks for your input though

I got the BFG KDW NT's b/c they're reported to have good rain traction - since moving to Seattle, seems like all I see is rain...unless it snows (when it snows, the Z stays in the garage - the front bumper wasn't designed to be a snow plow)
so far I like the performance - I got 35 series tires, a little too much road noise than I would have wanted...next time I'll get 40's.

Consumer Reports recommendations above.
Most 350Z drivers choose a summer tire, but there are alternatives. Any of the top rated tires above will be OK in a inch of snow (Bridgestone RE950 excepted) and wet roads. Just make sure that you match the speed rating.
BTW I prefer Smart Alex.

I have the BFG g-force TA KDW tires on my car, and they perform better in the dry and the wet than any other tire I've experienced. FAR better than the Toyos they replaced. The wet traction is just phenominal. I won't buy any other tires.
Bridgestone RE050A pole positions. Improved over the last version and the current special on tirerack. Will probably pick up a set myself, unless I find some reason to spend more on Advan sports or PS2s.

Bought a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE960s in the aforementioned sizes...very very very pleased. More grip in the dry than the RE040s (although my RE040s were 225/245s), slightly softer sidewall means more predictable handling over bumps, and the tire is slightly quieter than the RE040. Wet traction is unbelievable. Not bad for an economical all season tire with a 40k life expectancy.

i knw people are going to flame me for my reasoning but i buy tires based on how i need them. All tires are pretty much the same when u drive them regularly with the exception of road noise and treadwear but you really cant tell the difference until you push them to the limit. In my perspective, i dont think its worth spending money on 300-400 a tire when i can get a decent one for half that price.
I've used the Goodyear Eagle F1 for about 4 years now. I love the tread design and depth, plus it's very good in the rain, but yes on the down side they're not cold weather freindly. Fast curves are a no no. Still love em though.

You might also consider treadwear rating. Although every manufacturer has their own treadwear rating, I tend to steer away from the 140/180/220 ratings for longivity reasons. The higher the rating, supposedly the longer it will last under normal driving. Once I bought some rears for my MR2 with 180 rating, they were slick in 6 months{normal driving}
