Need input, debating between Eiback and NISMO sus.
I am debating between NISMO S suspension and Eiback lowering. I want to lower my Z with no negatives and if handling improves, I would be even happier. Here is what I think are the facts thus far. Anyone that can add or correct my overview I would appreciate it before I decide on which one I want. Thanks for your input and experience....
Eibach: Lowers it .8 ft/1.2 rear. Progressive coils meaning they coil 8 times vs 5 stock (I think that is how many times?) with coils getting closer together on one end. This is suppose to make them reduce/eliminate porposing/bouncing so people posting claim. Ride is supposely stiffer as with anytime you lower a car. Cost is $229 + install cost plus it looks like a camber adjustment would be needed. I have not checked into that cost yet. Big negative to me is some people claim they will wear out factory shocks faster because they are compressed. The negatives of camber adj + shock wear scare me and since we might have a feathering problem with ft tires, will nissan turn their back on me on wear problems (I think they will). Bob at HRE drove the car like this for 2 weeks (SEMA car) and loved the look & performance but tire wear would not show up that fast so it is something he could not see or address. I do not think this system would improve handling and if so, marginally.
NISMO S suspension: Price scares me off at first ($1,200 shipped gruppe-s.com). Sway bars can be added for an additional $550. I know it will handle better with this system and suspension system + sway bars are a matching set. Directions that come with suspension recommend 225 ft and 245 rear combo and I have 265 ft and 295 rears. Both the suggested and my set up are staggered. I do not know if my enlarged tires will be an issue. I am not sure how much this suspension lowers the car? I am hoping that since it is Nismo parts that if Nissan corrects the tire wear issue, this will not affect that. I am wondering if the $1200 is better spent here with the pluses rather than the cheaper Eibacks?
Can you give me feedback?
Thanks, Jeff
