Default Axis Matrix vs. Volk GT-V

Ok so here is the thing. I love the Volk GT-V, But i cant afford them. I can get a really good deal on Axis wheels from a local distributor down here. Can anyone help me out with the differences between these two wheels other than the price. Whatever i do, i will have the wheels in gold (even if i have to have them powder-coated).

Also if anyone has experience with Axis; are their lips as high polished as Volks?

Do the axis wheels offer the +17 and +18 offset? Also with the GT series the barrel is forged (Stronger and lighter).

If price is an issue for you then the Axis is a real good substitute for the Volks. The big difference is the multi piece wheel (Volks) versus a single cast wheel (axis)- so the cast wheel is going to weigh a little bit more. There is also more varied size option for a multipc wheel. Also, if you have a good eye the axis has a convex (sticks outward) center vs volk's concave (more flush) look. But all and all... both are good wheels and good luck with you hunt.

if you saw them both in person, you would jump all over the volks. i dont believe they make the the matrix in 19's, 20's on a Z FTL most of the time.

From GT-V and Matrix to LE37t's....that's quite a change! Although the LE37t is one of my personal favorites (in gold, of course). The Axis Matrix are less expensive, but just because you don't have the cash for the Volks now doesn't mean you can't save for a couple more months and then have the money later. You have to trust yourself to know that you will be glad you saved some money and waited a bit longer to get something really nice.

Also my opinion, but I do not like the convex shape of the rear spokes on the Matrix. The GT-V's look nicer to me, even at first glance. But I still say LE37t FTW.

i know i kinda went off on a tangent with the le37t's but i love those wheels on the Z too. I will just wait a little bit longer to see what other styles come out for the 07 year. but i will probably just keep saving for a nicer set. Yea ijust noticed the big concavity to the rear axis wheels. No good

Here's another photo of the Matrix on our yellow supercharged 350z.
+22mm offset front 20x9 and +35mm rear 20x10.5. No rubbing whatsoever.

I'm pretty sure the Volk is cast. I seem to remember only thier one piece wheels are forged.

I think you are half-right. I believe most of Volk's two-piece wheels have cast centers and forged rims. And I think the cast centers (i.e. the spokes) are made with hollow sections to decrease weight.

If you've seen them both in person, you'd surely be able to tell the difference, they both have a different spoke shape, and the Matrix's come in horrible 19" offsets and soso 20" offsets. The polished lip is also superior on the volks as well as the finishing on the centers. I wouldn't even consider the matrix a copy of the gt-v because they look so different
