It is a challenge. I could honestly care less about road noise and ride quality. I mean seriously, ride quality?? C'mon, if you're running a sticky tire you probably don't have the softest suspension setup anyway. I want it sticky, I want it responsive, I want them to last 12,000 miles, and I want it cheap.

Hell, at this point I'd pay $250/ea for some top notch tires in a 245/40/18 and 275/40/18's. If I want a 140+ UTQG rated track tire my only real choice is the BFG KD right now. Bridgestone- HELLLLOOO??? Make me some RE-01R's you bastards!!!

I'm in the same boat as you but i'm looking for 255/35/19 and 285/35/19's

Have you looked at re050 pole position? They don't really make the size I'm looking for but they do make 245's and 275's..

Sucks that they can't make the re-01r's in more sizes..

I want some thing super responsive and i hear the bfg's have pretty soft sidewall. and the toyo and 555's suck bad! I'd say go with the yokohama advans.

Grats on the rims! I say the pole positions in case your late to work and it's raining.

Out of your 2 choices, I personally prefer RE050A PP. It performes better in rain and less noise.

I would rank them:
  1. Yokohama AVS
  2. BFG KDWs
  3. Toyos
  4. .....

Notice Nittos are not on the list.....

why not keep the 18's then. I don't really have any experience in these tires but from reading tons of reviews I say default to the pole position's
^If not,

i was going to just try to find some left over S03's since i really just need fronts. but im selling my 18 nismos afterall for the 19"

im open to many brands toyo BFG Dunlop yokohama and bridgestone

i need to make my decision tomorrow and im not really a tire expert. so i was just going to default to the potenza

sizes i need are 245 35 19 and 275 35 19
I think out of your choices I would go with the BFGs. The Yoks are great tires but price is $$$. Stay away from Dunlops. IMO they make great bike tires but their car performance tires are not very good. IMO their best model was the old SP8000s. The 9000s were too soft on the sides and nothing new from them has caught my eyes. I am running the Toyos right now and it's probably going to be the last set I will own. Dry traction is not good enough IMO and the sidewall flex too much. I have no confidence in them. Bridgestones RE050s or the older S03s are awesome but very $$$. Also, I've experienced, read, and gotten many feedbacks that the S03 wet weather traction sucks really bad after the first 50% treadlife.

i dont particularly care about noise or ride quality...tread wear and price are concerns...i found that RT-615 Azenis are 250 bucks for 295/35/18 rear...whereas the AD07's are 360 bucks for the same size...worth the increased treadwear?

I have the Toyo Proxes 4s right now and they are great. So I can only imagine the T1rs. A friend of mine has has had the Nittos and the Toyos, and he prefers the Toyos any day. Good Luck!

Happy with my T 1Rs; have had them for 14,000 miles with roughly 10,000 in tread left. Quiet, decent ride, and wet/drive stick just fine. But I do not push the limits on traction.

from what I've heard the KDW's have the soft sidewalls, the KD's have firm sidewalls, and the AD07's are overall the best tires in their class according to tire rack, but theyre expensive ( 295's are 360 bucks a pop 0_0 )
