Hey 781,
Your black Z with the gold rims reminds me of my dads 1981 DATSUN 280ZX turbo. Its black and has the gold rims. Its kinda a throwback Z car look. I like!

I want to paint my stockers, the clear is coming off in spots and it looks bad. I want to do just a grey that is a little darker then stock.

I painted my wheels actually. They are just your average wheel spray paint that you can buy at autozone. I also clear coated them.

I kinda was goofing around when I did them, but they still came out alright. I just sanded the wheels before painting a little, and went to town. It was not hard at all really.

Thumbs up

I just got my 06' G35 OEM 19s powdercoated gunmetal metallic. They put two coats of powder followed by a clear coat. Next month I'll be putting these on along with a bunch of other goodies. I'm so anxious!

Wow. Now that I look at the pics they do look super light. (almost OEM) The fluorescent lighting plus flash on the camera is making them look like that. They're way darker in person. Once they're mounted on the car I'll take some pics.

I want to widen my 03' and get them painted black with the red strip. or even gold.

I just want to see how much it will cost to get it done right.

Go for powdercoat instead. It's ~40 times stronger than paint. It's not that expensive either. Mine cost $75 per wheel and they look MINT.

o yea ofcourse. Thats what I meant.

Just called, 200 a wheel for widening. They might be able to widen towards the front. to get a lip. Which would be nice... Sounds good.

Get them done in Topsecret Gold or some other gold and have the lip done in blue, that will be cool.

It's about $100 per wheel just to refinish them. I was going to look into widening but never got really interested enough to remember the prices. I was going to do 18x10(275) in the front and 18x11(305 or 315) in the back.

Those 18inch rays looked amazing! I'm picking up an 04 track pack on saturday, and since I would rather not spend $$ on new rims, having them changed to black seems like a nice alternative. IIRC, they are forged....doesn't powdercoating somehow affect structural integrity or something> (that's what I've been told before). Otherwise, would you say it would be more worth it to powdercoat, than say have them painted? Thanks!....BTW first post

I would love to see some of the 19" forged g35 rims custom widened. That would be sweet.
