The shop I used didn't even repair the scuffs, they just media blasted them and PC them. For the most part you can't even tell they had scuffs.

If you are gonna paint yourself, repair them yourself.

It's fairly simple unless there is MAJOR damage. I use glazing putty (essentially pre-mixed bondo on a small scale) and then a high-build primer to fill and smooth the deeper scratches, hand-sand to blend so you don't remove too much material. Once painted, they look perfect. My GT's had quite a bit of curb damage when I got them, that's the primary reason I painted them. Now, you couldn't see anything on them to even indicate there was a repair done, they just look like new perfect wheels painted a different color.

yea there is curbage around the lip for all the wheels as well from the previous owner. If it was just on the face of the wheel, then I can fill it with the putty as you mentioned, but due to the damage on the lip, I'd rather a professional shop do the work. But I will look into tutorials online...I also have to consider removing and remounting the tires to the wheels.

True, I work in a tire shop so I don't figure on the mounting and such lol.

I was doing some 'arty' shots of my car a while back, after I added 15mm spacers all round:

I'm thinking about dipping my stock 17's, Matte black with a touch of Metalizer blue for a dark anodized blue look.

I've done a dark gold, maybe I could do that again, but on a silver car instead of black.

Suggestions?

Just keep them Silver, the stock 17's suck, don't make them any uglier by making them stand out.

I know they suck. They have brand new tires so I could care less.

Mint sounds cool or white never thought of that

I agree they do look awful, but it's only $20 and it gives him something to do

The only way I would plastirice wheels is to get an idea what they would look like if I powdercoated them. I wouldn't even drive for more than a day with fit on them.
