Default Yes another wheel thread.

Ok, so my friend owns a wheel shop and has some good deals on volks, and I want to either do the SF Challenge or GT-S, now comes sizing. I definitely want to do a 10.5" rear with a 285/35/19 tire. Now, what offset should I go for in the rear so I don't have to have any modification/rubbing? I see +22 a lot and a few +25. I want to ideally run a 255/35/19 up front, so that would be a 9.5" rim right? What offset should I look for up there, again with no rubbing/modification needed. If need be I will step down to a 245 front and do a 9"/8.5" rim up front. I just want to get maximum wheel size without them sticking out and no rubbing.

Stay away from the +18 on the rears if you don't want to do fender mods on 285/35/19s. 255/35/19s on 19 x 9.5 +17 on the front will clear without any problems with a Hotchkis drop. On the Rear you'll need a much higher offset. +28 seems to be the norm. With that said, I am on 285/30/19s on the rear on a 19x10.5 +18 rears and I am clearing just fine on stock height. I am a nearly 5" lip too . Once I am dropped I will have to do a 50% cut on the inner rear fender and mild roll. I've seen a Z with this done and you really don't notice the modification.

hmmm offsets for 9.5" are -11 +3 +15 +28 +40 -3 +11 +23 +36 +48

So would a 9.5" with +23 offset and a 10.5" with +28 offset look good, IE similar placement relative to the wells. Anyone running a 9.5(f)/10.5(r) and have pictures so I can see what the different offsets look like, that's the hardest time I'm having is visualizing where each would sit.

Maybe I'll just do a 8.5"/9.5" setup and run a 275 out back, seems like there are a lot less questions, and I could get more lip with a 9.5" because I wouldn't have to compensate with so much positive offset.

My GT-7 rears are 19x10.5+24 which leaves me a 4" lip and absolutely no rub issues and clears my brembos. I'm running 275/35's which I'll stepping up to 285/30's soon.

Do you have any pics? I could see why you may not have any rubbing issues with a 275 since they would be stretched on a 10.5" rim.

I don't have Volks, but I thought I'd give you my .02, I'm running a 285/35 on a 10.5" +26 rim in the back, on stock suspension, and I do rub. Not under normal everyday conditions, but if I go through a dip in the road at a normal speed, and don't slow down, my rears rub. There is no way to tell you that this or that will work for sure, so all you can do is go with how conservative you want to run, because nobody can guarantee you that your application won't rub.

Now I'm thinking I may just do the 8.5/9.5 setup, not sure if running a 285 out back is worth it, especially when it will cost me about $100+ more each time I swap out tires.

You're right, 10.5 it is haha

This is the PERFECT fitment that I want, I'd imagine that would have to be at least +28 rear offset:

would a 19x9.5" front with +28 and a 19x10.5" at +23 look good you thinking? I don't want one to sit too far in with the other sitting too far out, I want them to be approximately about the same sitting on the fender. They only have the 10.5" in +23
