Default Poll: Wheel Decision: Work Emotions vs. G35 Rays

I have a PPW performance coupe, completely stock and am deciding on 2 choices, narrowed down to:

1) Work Emotion CR KAI in SILVER finish (i don't like the bronze or gunmetal on a ppw for some reason)...18x8.5 all 4, +30 offset

2) The 19" G35 dual 5 spoke rays rims, 19x8 front, and 19x8.5 rear I believe.

I've spent hours on the PPW pictures thread and can't seem to find any pics of the Work Emotions in SILVER on a ppw...the g35 rays look nice though.

Can't decide guys, please help! Which one looks better on a PPW stock??? Price will be around the the same for both!!

Thanks in advance!!!

based on the sizes and offsets you plan to run, just get the g35 rays and save some cash and get a forged wheel while you are at it. Sets without tires can be had for ~$700-800 or ~$1000-1200 with tires

Works in WMB finish, w/o question. Not feeling silver, atleast not in those sizes/offsets..Gunmetal would probably look kick-*** though on PPW. Esp if you two-tone the car black here and there. Just my .

Lighter, stronger, cheaper, why is there even a question here?

Although the G35 are stock wheels, it's fresh to death.

I wouldn't even consider the Works in that finish or size, but if I had to choose between the two I would go with the G35 wheels. redlude97 and I see it the same way.

Well maybe i'll throw in the price and see if that will change anything. I'm looking at roughly $850 USD for either the set of Works, or the G35 Rays.

Same price, pretty much. No tires.

For those who said the Works' offset (+30) and 18.5 combination was ****ty, i'm not too sure what you mean?...since our stock offset is +30, isn't it a good thing that it's closer to stock offset??

Thanks again for all opinions!

No, almost everyone will agree that the stock wheels are sunken too far into the wheelwells, which is why alot of people run spacers. Most people will get the most aggressive offset they can get away with without delving into body mods such as rolling to get wheels to fit. A select few are willing to roll their fenders to run an even more aggressive size. You can run wider and lower offset works and not have to do any body modifications at all, so to most people, your choice in size/offset is poor at best. The CR Kai get more concave with lower offsets which make the wheels look better also, so thats another reason your choice in sizes isn't optimal. Even at the same price, the g35 wheels a better overall because they are forged, and thus lighter and stronger. My suggestion, rethink your size/offsets if you are going to be spending money on wheels anyways, or just the the g35 wheels if its between these two

Hmm. I had the Works and loved them. You really need to get the correct offsets like everyone has mentioned. +20 all around is good.

why get the wheels when youre going to settle for a stock dealer wheels? if youre switching wheels, you might want to consider other maker as supposed to stock...so bottomline on my opinion, go for workwheels!!!

I would also consider aftermarket wheels but between the WORKS and the G35 then the design/weight of the G35 are way nicer. If you were more open to other aftermarket brands it wouldn't be so tough. I bought g35 wheels 1-2 weeks after I got my car and though they were super nice (light weight/nice styling) I couldn't stand the fact that I see 2-3 g35 coupes roll by with the same rims everyday. That's why I went with the SSR-GT2s

thanks for ur opinions...the poll results show the works are way out on top!!

I'm kinda liking the Work wheels..they're growing on me...and at $1G CAD isn't it a steal? (w/o tires though)...

I know the offsets are +30 all around, but i could get spacers to make it come out more right?

decisions, decisions
