Im totally new to imports...what are my options for 1500-1600...
I have a budget of 1500-1600 shipped for Wheels/Tires. I know I want to at least move up to 18" wheels. (I have stock plain-jane 17" right now).
I know Volks are out of my price range, so where should I start looking. I know nothing about import wheels because I was always a Jeep guy...so I only rly know Cragar, American Racing, AEV, etc. Also wheres a good place to buy? I plan on keeping my Stock 17"s with Pirelli winter rubber for the snow season...so the summer wheels will stay nice looking.
My Z is Silverstone.

What do you do with the car? Just a Daily driver or do you tack your car? I would buy something that fits your driving style. If you just want looks save up and buy the ones you really like. If you want to drive you car hard then get something with a good size and offset. And something that won't break the bank. Good luck with your choice.

I picked up a set of SSR wheels with *** kicking Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires from a local member with only 3k miles on the wheels/tires through the local classifieds. I never thought I could afford SSR wheels but searching and a bit of patience pays off well. For you I will reccomend
1. Stay away from Stern/ADR/AmericanRacing/Motegi/Luff wheels - just remember you get what you pay for, and sometimes you got way less then what you pay for.
2. G35 wheels are 19" Ray Engineering forged wheels which will offer you a nice clean setup. They are around 1300 for a nice set with low miles on the tires
3. Rays, Works, SSR seems to be the most popular not only because of their quality but also their performance aspect so you're paying more but you're getting the quality. Remember - you're driving a 300hp sports car, do you really want to roll it on rims that costs $120 each?!
Goodluck and keep us updated!

^This is all good advice. I think Work Emotion CR Kai's are a really good wheel and not that expensive. Although, they may be just a little over your budget with tires. Its been a while since I priced them.

I know everybody will disagree, but you can get good wheels for cheap. I paid less than $500 for my 19" Ruff Racing 277. I know they aren't as light as Nismos or Volks. Unless you track your car all the time or drive very agressive 24/7 then they will be fine. There are just too many close minded people on here that belienve if it's. not the most expensive, then it isn't any good.

I'm not familiar with ruff racing but I will agree with you that the ultra expensive, ultra JDM wheels are really not needed. There are many wheels out there for cheap that will be just for for most enthusiasts.

I'm just trying to let the OP know that most people end up regreting their purchase down the road... I did (purchased FN01R-C) ...
I'm happy with my SSR Professors.
Like somebody said "do it right the first time".

Notice I said if. If I ever do it will be after going single turbo and doing my performance mods first. So that will be a while. A lot of people that would get these wouldn't "upgrade" anyway. I'm just saying there are different wheels, that serve different roles, for different people. That doesn't mean one is the wrong or right way, just a different way.
