Default opinion on 18" tires

I just purchased Enkei RPF1 9.5x18+15 and 10.5x18+15 wheels for my stock 2004 touring from Auto RnD off the wheel forum. they tell me 265/35/18 and 285/35/18 will work. anyone have this setup or see any issues, or have better tire sizes? i plan on the hotchkis kit soon.
thanks in advance for your advice

I think those tire sizes are pretty much right on. If you're planning on dropping, the wheels/tires will look a little strange at stock height for the time being because of the lower profile. But if not dropping, I would recommend 265/40 up front and 285/40/18 rears. Nice Wheels btw! Almost bought that same set-up. Did you still manage to get the special pricing on them?

hey thanks for the reply,
i will drop the car in the next month and will probably go with the hotchkis setup. even with lowering, would you prefer the 40 series opposed to the 35's? or vice versa?
As for the wheels..yes i got a great deal, about 500-600 less than what the other vendors offered...and very prompt and professional service. the wheels will be here on friday!(im trackin em)

You should go w/35 series if lowering. I think many ppl may not even know this, but the 35 stands for 35% of whatever the tire width is, i.e. 265. So a 285/40 would have a greater diameter (height), bc of a greater sidewall height, than say a 265/40. But with your tire widths, go 35 for sure if dropping.

That's awesome that your wheels are coming in so soon. Post some pics when you have them mounted so we can all drool over them! I decided to go with the Work Emotion CR Kai's instead, but the deal you got was the same one I was debating over and it wasn't an easy one to pass up, that's for sure. Did you get SBC Chrome? I have about another 1 1/2 months wait, but I guess it'll make it that much sweeter when I do finally get the wheels! I'll probably run 265/40/18s all around, and not planning to lower. Especially not with the roads here in NY/NJ!!
