RAYS Time Attack Blue - They're here :)
This man is trying to market his business to us and make a few dollars don't ruin this for him. some of you guys are shunning him because he wanted to be unique and offer us something rare and never done before. It's still rays wheels with just a different paint scheme and if he wants to save you money why not let him... Jeez... free bump for you gruppe-s.

For those of you who are too lazy to read the previous posts, gruppe-s has commented on the warranty several times.

In fact, the only time I have ever heard of wheels needing to be warrantied was with a cheap replica wheel that cracked under high torque load produced by a Viper GTS. Why a Viper GTS owner bought a cheap replica wheel? I dunno...
But yes, if a warranty issue were to exist we would get it taken care of!

Bottom line is Gruppe S will stand behind their products. It looks like if the customer has any problems, they will take care of it and even replace it if need be. They're selling a set of rims... if you want to buy it then buy it, if not then don't.
Gruppe S has really come back with the best prices for their parts. Just take a look at the Vendor Classified section. So don't crucify them for hooking up Z owners with good legit deals.

Hey sorry, let me answer your questions -
1. Yes, we import the wheels directly from Japan. This may be changing in the near future though.
2. Yes Rays warranty is covered. But the reality is they will only warranty if the wheel has a manufacturing defect. If you go rally cross in these wheels and try to warranty the paint or put them on some 5000ft/lbs diesel dragster and crack it then chances are Rays will not warranty it (doesn't matter grey market or not).
3. A long, long time. Any standard colored wheels from Rays take almost 8-12weeks these days, custom colored takes much longer. My recommendation is to order a set in standard colors and have us powder coat it for you if you really want the Takata green.
4. If you really want Takata green from Rays we can order it for you but please see #2.
5. Please PM for pricing. We have agreed out of respect for other Volk dealers not to publically advertise any Volk prices.
Cheers,
Gary

the point of the conflict isn't gruppe-s making a different color wheel, it's that they are grey marketing the product. they don't actually take the wheels to rays in japan, they take the wheels to the guy who they bought them from in japan, who then takes the wheels to either rays or who they bought the wheels from. the only wheel that is approved by rays and mackin to be sold direct from japan is the top secret gold wheels, all others are not approved. and of course the only source for these wheels are top secret dealers.
as andy at performance nissan stated in his thread, grey marketing hurts the companies that have made investments in inventory and marketing of the products that they import. the consumer has the choice though and as usual the person with the lowest price will win whether ethical or not.

Until then, I'd suggest staying out of a paying site sponsors for sale thread.....I'm shocked the admins/mods haven't taken action...but does it suprise me? hmmm..........
