When you consider the number of posts here by guys with 03 and 04 cars who did have tire feathering, and the fact that there have been hardly any 05 and 06 owners claiming to have feathering, I'd have to say it's a safe bet that the problem is gone.

I have a 2004.5 Z that had the feathering problem. Front tires were replaced and realignment under the TSB. I drove 6K miles on the replacement fronts and 7K miles on new wheels and tires and have seen no sign of feathering. So in my experience, the feather problem is fixed.

Off topic, not trying to steal the thread, I promise: How do you determine whether it's 2004.5?

I originally found the official distinction between the two on the nissan-tech.com site. You can tell in the VIN numbers:

2004 Nissan 350Z Coupe/Roadster (Coupe VINs up to D*4T160000,E*4T060000) (Roadster VINs from D*4T102001 to D*4T110000 & from A*4T002001 to A*4T010000)

2004.5 Nissan 350Z Coupe/Roadster (Coupe VINs from D*4T160001, E*4T060001) ( Roadster VINs from D*4T110001, A*4T010001)

I believe Nissan fixed this (and even for the 2003 models). I have a 2003 and had the tire feathering problem (noise at low speed and rapid tire wear). My dealer fixed the problem on my 2003 (new front tires and an alignment). 18+ months later, all is well.

Thanks everyone... I wish the few on this thread with 05's and 06's that have had problems would please speak up and tell us the issues..
I know the 03's and 04's were not FIXABLE! I owned an 03 and it was a nightmare...Had to slap LAWSUIT on
Nissan's A$$ and 2 years later they finally bought it back full price but that was a process..That's why I'm being very cautious about this potential purchase on a 06... anyone else? Please chime in!

Thanks!

Wow! Never heard about anyone getting a refund on the entire car. My dealer fixed the problem on my 2003, and it was a legitimate fix. No problem now with my 2003 and tires. Looks as though I was fortunate.

Spike...You were VERY lucky to have a 03 "fixed"...most of them , no matter what you did the faeathering would come back..under NJ lemon law NISSAN HAS to buy back the car if they are sued! they waited last minutr like they were going to try the case in front of the jury, then bought it back because they knew they would lose! This is one reason why re-sale is so bad on the 03 and 04's becuase people who know something about the Z don't want the tire issues! Maybe Nissan can put some CAMBER ADJUST in the 09 so this will never happen again
