I have searched for "Tenzo" here and elsewhere. I hear some good things about their wheels, but I also read some posts that say "i heard" or "a friend's cousin's uncle's brother had a bad experience".

So what is the low down on Tenzo wheels? And I'm not comparing to Volk or Work either. Let's keep this apple-to-apples. I don't track my car, I'm not too concerned with weight. I am concerned about good looks, quality finish, and everyday drivability. I am REALLY looking for personal experiences from people who have owned Tenzo wheels. I have MB Wheels now and they do the job, but I'm not feeling the look anymore.

DC-6 Version 2 are nice. Was considering them on my PPW, gonna end up getting the Volk Sf Challenge, same color scheme sort of though, black and polished.

 

I like the DC5. Don't worry what others think, if you like them I go for them. I never heard a bad story about Tenzo rims. People may show me pictures of cracked Tenzo rims but I can show pics of cracked HRE that collapsed during hard cornering.

 

I totally agree and I intend on getting what I like. I was just wondering if anyone has actually witnessed a cracked/bent Tenzo. The few stories I've read are not 'first hand', so I don't hold much stock in them. Also, I don't know where I could see them in person before purchasing, so I am interested in knowing if Tenzo has a nice finish on them. This is more of a quality question than a looks question.

 

They look good, it really depends on what sizes and offsets tenzo has for those particular wheels..

 

Generally manufactures are quick to brag about quality and testing standards such as ISO9001, QS9000, TS-16949, VIA, JWL, and TUV. I visited the Tenso site, and found no mention of any standards. Maybe I missed it.

 

how about stamped all around the inside of the spoke? odd place for it.. sorta sticks out. But I like the overall look of both of those.

I dont think youre gonna find good info on those, they havent been making wheels suitable for us (offset and widths), and generally, they've been marketing to much lighter/less HP cars. I'm in no way saying those new wheels wont cut it, just saying its not a name associated with Z/Gs for those reasons. They are clearly making a push now tho. I sorta like their new stuff.

Tenzo's are nice wheels, great pricing too. Go for it!

 

Not a huge fan of Tenzo. If thats what you like then go for it. Make sure that is worth the money.

 

Definitely the DC-5. It loks much better imo.

I'm also planning on getting the DC-6 on my chrome silver, but V1 (no polish).

 

I like the wheels but it doesn't look like they come in preferred sizes & offsets for the Z. Maybe spacers can solve that problem?

 

Agree--the sizes and offsets are not ideal. But they are nice looking wheels.

I might have missed it...what is the weight of a sample wheel?

 

All of Tezo's new advertisements feature these wheels on a 350Z. I am not sure if I am reading the fitment chart correct, but for example, the DC5 for our car would be:

Front - 19x8.5 offset +20
Rear - 19x10 offset +19

I am no wheel expert at all, but I thought in the +20 range was ideal.....

Just because I'm on the page already, I'll look up the DC6 specs:

I could do 18x9.5 all around. I think it says the offset is "MD/LO", not too sure what tha means. Can someone help me out here?

They also have a GT6, but I think it looks too much like the TSW Thruxtons.

Per Frank at Tenzo the offsets are as follows:

DC-6:
18x8 +9mm
18x9.5 +15mm

DC-5:
19x8.5 +20mm
19x10 +19mm

If these offsets for the DC-5 sound good to you guys (I really am lost when it comes to wheel offsets and what looks good) I think I will jump on the DC-5 version 2 in charcoal gray for my silverstone Z.
