Question What do you guys think of this offset? (pics to review)

This was from this weekend. I was test fitting some wheels on my Z. All these pics are w/the following tire/wheels:
Tires (Nitto 555)
245/35/20
285/30/20

Wheels (TSW Thruxton)
20X8.5 5-114.3 Front
20X10 5-114.3 Rear

I realize the front is darn close to the fender, that's why I am going to go for 255/30/20's. That should reduce the tire height to almost stock height (almost 3/4 shorter) and give me some room to play with (I hope....also, I hope I don't rub!).

Some pics from the side-

Okay, now the real reason, some pics of the rear offset....how's it look!? I guess the easy way to explain the pics is this, the rear tire/wheel edge was wider than the rear bumper, but inside of the fender before the tire/wheel.

(front to rear side shot)

(a straight shot of the rear tire/wheel from behind)

(another staight on shot of the rear tire/wheel)

(angled view of the above image)

(angled view of rear tire/wheel)

(another top angled view of rear tire/wheel)

(top angled view of rear tire/wheel)

So, is the rear offset enough? I'm worried about hitting my rear fender (big tire!).

Thanks!

Thumbs up Well...

For now, I'm going to leave the offset of these wheels a mystery. I believe that it will sway the opinions of people. Meaning that they'll go by what number they've heard is 'good' and not take into consideration how the tires/wheels look in the pics. It's human nature.

I'm leaving my office now and need to run a few errands, I'll post it when I get home.

I REALLY appreciate the input/insight of everyone.

the offset looks perfect. go any more and it'll take on the stock appearance whel looked at from behind and go any less and it'll start to look too hoopty. 19's would look better though.

IMO the offset isn't aggresive enough yet, it needs a fender roll and some spacers to make it flush

Oh, they look great. You have clearance now, and you gain more around turns anyway (suspension compression vs. camber)
I voted the offset may be too big. Just slightly.

At first, I was sold on 19's, but then I saw some Z's w/20's and well....I thought I'd give it a try.

To be honest, a few pics of the Z's w/20's look BIG. In person, these wheels look MUCH better. In fact, they don't seem ghetto-riffic at all...they look like they fit the car, but that is just this man's opinion/taste.

Also, I really like the look of the Thruxton's. I had to have the HUGE lip that only the 20's have (5 inches....normally that far from bragging rights! lol).

I haven't bought them yet....I could order a smaller offset to push them out. I am a little scared to roll my fenders. Isn't there a chance to increase exposure to the elements w/fender rolling (i.e., rust)?

Oh.....by the way, the car has a camber/toe kit and is aligned.

Thanks!

I have these same wheels in 18's and the same offset...They are PERFECT...Just my opinon, but if the offset is too far out you run into the issue of the tire eatin the fender. Too far in and you might as well stay stock..Had 275-40-18 nitto 555's on my car and the tire would every now and then rub when I hit a hard bump but now I'm runnin a 285-35-18 555 and its perfect....Hope this helps...

I think you need a little bit more aggressive. You might consider going down a size and getting a lower offset.

19" will give you more tire options.

IMO, the TSW wheels are some of the ugliest around.

Thumbs up and the offset is.....

Believe it or not, that is +35 in the rear! The front is +20.

I know it's about what I think looks good, but after reading some of the comments, maybe 19's would be best.

Wasuber,
I thought the Thruxtons looked great on your car! 19's right? What offset?
